Had the fixed price lunch menu at £48. Includes a glass of prosecco, 3 courses with good choices, plus a few extras. All very good with excellent and friendly service. It's a bargain. Can't believe a the times I've eaten in Liverpool over the years and haven’t eaten here until now. My new favourite

We went for the PRIX FIXE menu which is around £48 a person for the valentine weekend.I would definitely come back again. My taste buds will forever thank me for taking them all the way to Liverpool to enjoy this meal.

I was REALLY looking forward to eating here. We took a 10min taxi from the city and it's quite an unassuming entrance from the street in a nice Georgian architectural area of the city. A warm, friendly welcome and pleasant enough surroundings. Excellent to offer an a la carte menu as well as tasting (my bestie isn't very adventurous beyond steak and chicken ?). We chose from the ALC which was £89 for 3 courses, with a £5 supplement for sirloin steak main. The 3 amuse bouche, as is customary, from the kitchen were just ok. The bread was equally just ok. The two seeded rolls were dry bordering stale, not warm and certainly not baked fresh that day (or had been under a hot lamp).Scallop starter was ok, one King sliced into three with few queens in a bisque sauce that didn't really taste as punchy as it could have. The sirloin was a total disappointment! Especially given the supplement. My slices had sinew, and it really was a very ordinary plate of food. The desserts were good, light flaky mille-feuille. The decaf coffee was delicious and I probably enjoyed that the most. The atmosphere was nice enough but the music was a bit dated. All the staff were very friendly and helpful, I was quite surprised when the bread crumbs were cleared that they were swept onto the carpet, and not onto a receptacle/hand.I left feeling disappointed and I wouldn't come again. When I'm lucky enough to eat at fine dining places I want to close my eyes and really taste all the flavours and textures dancing around. I only wanted to close my eyes for bed after this. My score was bordering 3.5/4. Sorry!

I went here as a birthday treat. The food was incredible as was the service. The atmosphere is calm and relaxing. The manager/owner came over at the end and thanked us for coming. It was a lovely touch.Kid-friendliness: I 100% wouldn’t take children.

What a memorable evening we had at The Art School Restaurant on the evening of 27th January which was my husband Anthony Francis’ 55th birthday. It was a surprise for him and he (and I) couldn’t have been more pleased. The food was excellent. The service was exemplary and that is what made the experience even more special.Right from the moment Isabella welcomed us warmly, arranged for a ramp for my husband who was in a wheelchair and took our coats, to Jenny who wished my husband warmly for his birthday (he was touched as it was after all a surprise) and showed us to our table and proceeded to explain how the various elements would unfold, to Steven the sommelier who was very knowledgeable about the wine list, to Ben who was discreetly attentive whilst was looking after us at the table, it was a flawless experience. Jenny and Steven had a wonderful sense of humour. It was fine dining delivered by a fine team. We dine out often and the individuals who deliver the culinary experience in our opinion, are as important as the offering itself. The personalised touches were much appreciated. To sum up, I would like to congratulate you Paul, for having the above mentioned team members working at your establishment. They are indeed a credit to you and made our evening extremely special.Thank you once again.

This restaurant is incredible. From the moment you walk in, you're met with warm hospitality and a beautiful bar area with a roaring fire. Every single member of staff were friendly, helpful and knew what they were doing. The food was out of this world. We went for the tasting menu and all the courses were delicious and perfectly cooked. I was really impressed with the portion size and left comfortably full. My favourite was probably the duck. I highly recommend eating here. I will definitely be back. The whole experience was an actual 'experience '. What we really appreciated was that there was no snobbery or people looking down on anyone. We were made to feel so comfortable and special.

Excellent again! Took my mum for her birthday (second year in a row) and was again blown away by both the food and service. We dined on the ‘prix fixe’ menu and started by having a glass of wine in the front area. All the waiting staff are so attentive and friendly. Food was sublime when it arrived and we finished our meal by having a cocktail in the cellar bar (was no problem for the team to transfer our tab to downstairs) my Mum was presented with a birthday plate which was a lovely special touch to an amazing meal! Can’t wait to come back ❤️ Super service and food

Loved our trip to the art school - the food was top quality. Not quite a tasting menu, we chose from the excellence set menu, the dishes were fantastic. Slight shame our main dishes weren't served with an explanation and we couldn't quite find anyone who could tell us exactly what each part of the dish was, taking nothing away from the quality of the food. Good sommelier too!, highly recommend!!
