Visiting Liverpool again and was looking forward to visiting Lark Lane. Found the Old School House and it looked such a cool place and food menu looked amazing. Coffees came after 20 mins and food was a lot longer. Didn't mind too much as place was bustling, however our food which consisted of 2 full breakfast and poached eggs on toast came out cold! It was so disappointing especially the sausages and bacon. Not one to complain but we were starving so I called the server and politely explained and even said that we didn't mind the food being heated in microwave. Food was took back to the kitchen and we were told we were getting fresh portions. That was great until it arrived back again looking fresh but the same thing ..cold food. Unfortunately we couldn't eat it and expressed our dissatisfaction again. We weren't charged for the food and the poor girl who served us apologied but we left so hungry and disappointed. What a big shame really hope the kitchen staff take note of this review.

Nice food and nice wine but the service seriously let's this place down. I live close by, and keep giving this place another chance but, consistently, you are able to put your first order in very quickly and happily, and after that point you're lucky if you're able to get anyone to bring you another drink or the bill or a dessert menu. I've talked with friends who have booked and then not been served for over half an hour to even get a drink and ended up having to leave in hopes of getting dinner elsewhere. I've often been and tried to catch someone's... *anyone's* eye to order something new or get another drink but given up.If you want the bill - best to put your coat on and look like you'll leave without paying as this might be the only way of getting any service beyond the first greeting at the door.Probably won't bother here again as I've yet to have an experience to disprove the above.

Visit to The Old School House today . I opted for the double smash burger , which came with chips . Burger was ok , but chips were tepid , and looked like they were the last ones from a cooked batch , as some were just bits of fried stuff . My partner mentioned this to the staff , who offered an exchange . I used to visit this place quite regularly, even when it was Nono’s. The current owners do a great job in general , but today the party I was with were unimpressed by the mediocre fare .

Got here at 8:30 waited to be served, finally got someone’s attention at 8:40ish and they told us to wait ? then came over @ 9:04 and said the kitchen closed at 9:00. We only wanted a cheese board. Very odd, but not really sorry at all ??♂️. Lovely looking please and came recommended by a friend which is a shame.

Had read good reports of The Old School House but the food was poor with not enough variety in the salad and dry chicken pieces. The starter was too salty and the shepherds pie was tasteless.
Been there many times, food is amazing, friendly, helpful staff and lovely atmosphere.Best red pesto hummus??would love to visit

Very rare I leave a negative review but this is the exception!Bit of a catalogue of disappointment.Sat next to a ceiling leak (these things can happen) hemmed in by a wet floor sign.Ordered starters, mains and a bottle of wine from the off. 10 mins to get the wine to us.Starters (Goats cheese tartlet and fish cakes) we're ok No seasoning and not much Salmon in the fishcake. Goats cheese tart not bad but a touch soft on the pasty.2 ribeyes for main. 1 was ok. The other was cold and 1/3 unrendered fat. Not pleasant. The chips were homemade but undercooked and a touch soggy. Most of one steak left on the plate. No one asked how it was. No steak knives!Lemon posset and shortcake to finish. Posset was good (2 stars!) Shortcake was soggy. Served with a soup spoon! £92. Pretty shabby.

Waited forty minutes for drinks despite asking twice, left before the food we ordered arrived. Half the staff working, other half standing still.

Food is nice but service and venue is poor.Slow service, staff putting guests in cold conservatory area so that is more manageable for them, and also some seem hungover.Venue is ok. Nothing special. No atmosphere. Not worth the price.
