Lovely comfortable, warm and friendly pub smack in the centre of town.Great choice of drinks and reasonably priced.Barmaids and landlady always very friendly and excellent at their jobs.Always a good trade and very busy weekends.Just a shame the place will be closing soon due to St Helens Council deciding more Green space is needed, I wonder who has bern getting the brown envelopes at the Council???Sad loss for the pub goer when it ceases trading.

Use this pub before a Saints game, really friendly and all staff know who’s next when it’s packed plenty screens for sport and music fantastic beer garden and atmosphere. Very sad the local council have got their grubby mitt’s on it.

It would be a travesty to lose this little gem. I'm not a regular by any means, but have been using this place on and off now for nigh on 30 years. It's more than just a pub, it's a hub for the community. Ive never seen anyone overtly intoxicated, merry yes and friendly certainly. The local authority really needs to listen to the dissenting voices who desperately want a place to unwind and put the world to rights after a hard day's work. It might just be a stroke of a pen to you but it would represent the end of an era to the locals. Come on St Helens council, show some compassion. It would mean so much.
Great pub. It's a
