Came in by chance today on a rainy afternoon. Intended just to have coffee but ended up ordering food too. My veggie lasagne was great and the soup of the day was delicious too.Prompt service and a cosy interior made for an unexpectedly pleasant lunch.Reasonable prices too.We will be back .

Love the food at Gusto, but this time the staff weren't great and seemed determined to get us out the door as soon as possible (there were unoccupied tables, so they weren't fully booked). Glasses of wine were taken away before they were finished. We were asked 4 times to hurry our dessert order. Even my plate was taken away before finishing my starter! Great food, as always, but not a relaxing meal on this occasion

Such a fabulous find , can’t wait to return , we have recently purchased a Tastecard so just looked where it could be used in Southport We have been visiting Southport for many years and never noticed this restaurant before , will defiantly return The food was amazing , service really good and a lovely ambience in the restaurant A welcome change from pub food & chain restaurants

My wife booked this restaurant for my birthday. She sent an e-mail to confirm the booking in the afternoon. When we arrived, the waitress don't find our booking. We were told to wait to see if there is anyone gave up their booking. It turns out we waited for 20 minutes. The foods are good and the price is reasonable regarding the food quality. My wife also booked a dessert with my name on it. When told the waitress and she said she's never receive the booking order. My wife asked her to see if she can ask the cook in the kitchen to produce it now. But the waitress didn't bother to ask the cook, but directly said she can't make it.This is my birthday dinner. Thanks for watching my comment.

Absolutely disgusted! Always come to Gusto. Been coming for last 9 years. Service is not always the best but food is lovely. Visited today for my mums birthday. 4 adults 1 child (3). Had 2 taste cards so ordered 4 main courses and a child’s plain pasta £4. Asked for the bill and had been charged for 3 main courses. Challenged this as had 2 taste cards. Was told by the not so friendly waitress that the manager ‘ George’ had told her to charge us for 3 meals and give the child’s PLAIN pasta which cost £4 for free!! Could not believe this. A taste card states 241 on mains and starters. What he had was not a main course. It wasn’t even a starter. The waitress laughed in our face as we challenged this and conveniently George had left the building! Shame to say after coming here for 9 years will not be coming back. If George does not want to offer 241 he shouldn’t be on taste-card. Be careful what you order and what your paying for!! .

We were lucky to find a table, as it was a Saturday evening. We had a lukewarm welcome from a man behind the bar. He came back to get our drinks, when we couldn't remember he walked our dismissing us. We gave our order to a young lady. My friend ordered lasagne and garlic bread, I had the octopus salad with roasted potatoes. The salad was divine, with crunchy veg. We both opted for the lemon sorbet, which was zingy and refreshing. We'd definitely go back

Extremely condescending staff with such poor attitude. Service was seriously bad, the manager was on his phone during the whole of the service. Food was good if you were prepared to wait an hour. Overall disgusting experience. Please dine elsewhere because the staff aren’t bothered whether you do or not.

Great food, atmosphere ok, kind of spoiled by the very loud phone ringing. Took waitress ages to answer.....rang more than once. Other than that, great food.

The service was quick and welcoming. I had the cheese and mushroom pizza with added ham. My wife wanted risotto, preferably prawn risotto, but there was only ham and pea risotto on the menu. However the waitress said she would ask the chef if they could make a prawn risotto. The answer was the chef could. We were both pleased with our meals.

Soup of the day was excellent! Leek and potato with some nice bread my partner enjoyed, the garlic bread we got was nice too. However I ordered a pizza and the centre was not cooked. It was raw and so were the peppers on top.I wasn’t given the opportunity to tell the waitress about the bad food because she didn’t come and ask if our food was ok. I do know she was working the floor alone, so I’ll take that into consideration.Vegetarian options: They were available, yes

Lovely food as all other reviews state. I had a pizza with artichoke and olives with rocket. I was stuffed for hours. Should have just been a reasonable person and taken a doggy bag away with me. Went with a friend who is gluten free who was impressed there was an alright amount of choices and she enjoyed the chocolate almond cake. I think she said it wasn't very almond-y if that helps anyone. Another had the apple pie and it was amazing looking and lovely cinnamon throughout the slice. The pasta meals were probably the perfect portion but it was mentioned that one would have liked it a bit larger. Everything tasted amazing. I had a scoop of chocolate ice cream which was very rich; I could have easily eaten 5 scoops. Lovely position to watch over weatherspoons across the road if you leave a bunch of males on their own with a baby while you go for a meal in peace. We watched the parking attendant hand out tickets which was entertaining. Good position if you're a people watcher. There were complaints about the waitress being on her own, again, it was the same and service in my opinion was absolutely fine even if it was a bit slower but we weren't in any rush to get back to weatherspoons of course.Dietary restrictions: Gluten free mains and dessert available.
