This was a lot like Barrow very homelystaff very attentive and welcoming what stood out was I'd had two drinks and 3 on the bus to Southport to stay at a local hotel I asked for a third and they refused as they thought I'd had enough I accepted this finished of what I had left and left the pub I like the way they were looking for Wetherspoon's themselves there punters and me.

I have been to too many Witherspoon's but I say this one is the worst. The staff is ignorant. The food isn't that nice. The place needs a good clean.

Here to meet a few friends for a drink. It was a Thurday, mid afternoon, start of a night out, and my first time here. I say first time, but it's a Wethies, there's a comfortable similarity to them, you know what you're getting. Decent food, good selection of beers, and all at very reasonable prices. And this's a good one. Well presented, clean, tidy and all decorated for Christmas. The staff were friendly, quick to serve, but best of all (maybe due the time of day), it wasn't packed. Busy, but not mad busy. The ones in my town center, as a rule, you can't move. We spent a happy few hours here in a very relaxed atmosphere. I'd certainly have no qualms coming back here when next in town.

This "Spoons" was back to normal on this visit. The food was tasty and hot, the staff very good and attentive in keeping the tables tidy and clean. The App worked very fast - the best way to order. All in all - very

Cheap and cheerful pub food. Standard pinged fayre but very reasonably priced.Fantastic selection of traditional ales. Remarkably cheap prices on drinks. Hard working but cheerful bar staff.Great atmosphere.Busy place so decor, fixtures and fittings are worked hard.Really enjoyed our visit though. Just good, old-fashioned pub.

The staff are run off their feet. Ordering from the app is much better than trying to get served at the bar. The atmosphere is frustrated and whilst the staff work really hard, there is not enough to deal with the volume of people and keep the tables cleared and clean.Management who sort staff need to look into the situation.Vegetarian options: Some good options. ?

Had Christmas dinner here on Monday evening and breakfast the next morning. Dinner was good, hot and cooked well. Breakfast was ok although the beans, eggs, hash browns and toast could have been hotter.

The 3 large breakfasts were luke warm. Unfortunately due to time restrictions we didn't complain. The waitress seemed disinterested in her

Despite the wet miserable weather, on the day of my visit this place was absolutely packed. It was the start of the autumn beer festival so there was a good selection of cask ales on tap, I elected to go for the Fyne Brewery, Avalanche & my wife went for the Titanic, Plumb Porter both of which were in excellent condition. Wetherspoons have gone through a tough period of late & especially since the Covid pandemic which has resulted in a number of their pubs closing. Unfortunately, Southport's other Spoons was one of them, it closed it's doors earlier this year. I have reviewed a number of Spoons over the years and sadly not all have been the best. But I can honestly say that on my visit today this place was excellent. The manager was friendly & very helpful, as were the bar staff (a big improvement on its old sister pub) the food was the best I've had in a long time, OK, it was only off the "small plates" menu, Chicken wings, Chicken bites & Cheesy chips, but it was all freshly cooked & faultless! So a big well done to all involved, it was excellent.

The food was OK but could have been better. The small meals are ideal if you are not a big eater and are suitable for a child. The staff are polite and professional, so we'll done guys. Yes, I would go back again.

A great Sunday morning breakfast in Southport, followed by a gentle walk around the park loved it. Staff were vert friendly although very busy. Food is lovely toast included with breakfast and refillable coffee. Brilliant would go again.Parking: Street parking along Lord Street, we manged to park outside, from £1.70. We paid £3.30 so we had time for a walk round the place without having to move the car.
