We have not been to Kismat for a few years. This time we went as two couples. Parking outside is a bit more difficult than it used to be. However the staff were good and the value for money was good. What we particularly like is that the food is not too oily. The choice of menu items is OK. There is a good value deal on Wednesday evenings which is worth considering.Parking: You used to be able to park right in front of the restaurant but the kerb has been raised so this is not a good option.

Excellent food but expensive and not best value for money - eg £3.50 for the small spice tray, extra for lime pickle, better value if you bring your own

Love this place usually but the delivery food was disappointing. The chicken dish was very dry and I couldn’t/wouldn’t eat.

Staff are welcoming, friendly, and attentive. We love coming here. I always book as it can get very busy, as it's so popular. I have a favourite meal, Murghi Modhu. And the naan bread is spot on.Parking: A few off-road spaces but mainly street parking. If you know the area it helps, but be careful as you're on a busy bend on a main road

Excellent standard of food as always. Madras was full of flavour with a perfect amount of heat. Friendly service. A great neighborhood restaurant.
This is the 2nd disappointing takeaway we've had in the last 6 weeks - the first time we asked online for 2 chicken tikka starters, when we got home and opened it, there was 1 chicken tikka starter and in the other carton - 2 chicken wings. We tried calling, no answer, I emailed them explaining we wouldn't be coming back as we live 15 minutes away - never got a response. This time we ordered in person and explained what happened last time - the response was a frown - we asked for onion bhaji- didn't receive them but got rice that we hadn't ordered... the chicken was tough to eat and just a disappointment. We won't be returning again. Make sure you check your takeaway order before leaving, not that you should have to!

Last minute decision to go for an evening meal with my wife and son. Phoned Kismat and booked a table for 18:15. It was quiet in the restaurant when we arrived but started to fill up after about 30 mins. The waiter (Youssef) was very attentive. He offered all menus including the Wednesday night banquet deal. He was polite, friendly and so helpful in explaining when we asked about different dishes. We had eaten our starters and were waiting for our mains when my wife realised she had ordered the wrong main meal. Yuossef was more than happy to run to the kitchen to amend the order. The food was excellent and plentiful. We opted for the Wednesday night deal and saved £10 on the overall bill. Would definitely recommend Kismat.

Dishes were tasty and well seasoned and spiced. Unfortunately they were over-priced given the small amount of meat/paneer contained in each dish which consisted mainly of sauce. For example, the Lamb dish had 8 very small cubes of meat in it, not even 1" square in size and a couple of those were mainly fat and gristle. The paneer dish had 4, 1" cubes and a further piece that had been cut in half. I usually have leftovers for another dinner from a takeaway order, but not this time.
And you bring your own booze ? Loved
