Acle Bridge Inn
Acle Bridge, Acle, NorwichWe had dinner at this pub this evening (25th March 2026). We had beef and mushroom stew and steak and ale pie, which was huge! It's a dog friendly pub, we have a big dog. When I phoned to make a reservation, Phil, the Landlord, kindly gave us a table where our dog had his own space in a corner which was perfect as he's only 16 months and quite nervous and anxious around people and other dogs. The food was delicious, and big portions for the price. We couldn't get over the size of the pie!. The staff are warm, welcoming and friendly and the dog bowls were clean and not the metal kind. There were also dog treats and chews which kept our boy occupied whilst we ate our meals. The pub has a lovely atmosphere, nice decor and Phil came over to check our table was OK. I would highly recommend and we've booked breakfast on Friday morning before heading home. In the summer it would be lovely as there's a small marina next to the pub. Very rare to find fresh quality food, and a first class service. Thank you! As for desserts, I'd highly recommend the banana split and Irish cream white chocolate cheesecake. Unfortunately, we had eaten them before I could take a photo!

Queens Head House
Unit 1, Queens Head House, The St, Acle, NorwichWe had Dads wake here and can not fault anything. Tea and coffee were constantly topped up, there was a vast variety of sandwiches, all the food was very enjoyable and well presented. Thought had been put into where we were placed too. I was not looking forward to the wake but by holding it here the atmosphere was relaxed, warm and friendly making it a lovely way to share our thoughts and smile at memories. Thank you to all who helped make this occasion so pleasant.

The Red Lion
Marsh Rd, Halvergate, NorwichStumbled across this pub whilst bikepacking in Norfolk. Our group was 40 miles into an intense day of cycling - lost hungry and tired. Went inside hoping for some food, but got something more valuable. A huge thank you to Maws and Jayne who gave us directions, guidance and a friendly smile and words of encouragement that got us to the ferry and (20 miles of cycling later) to our campsite for the evening. If I’m back in Norfolk again, I’d definitely visit back for a pint - looks like a proper cosey pub and if we hadn’t have been in such a pickle, would have loved to have stayed for a few. Thanks again for your kindness!

Full River
The St, Acle, NorwichThe food is always lovely at full River and the service is always friendly with plenty of humour. The only thing I would say about the full river is that it is quite expensive compared to other Chinese Takeaways. For instance, if you ordered a curry, you do not get any rice with it. So curry with rice, You're looking around a tenner. But as I say it's worth paying a bit extra because it's so tasty.
