We have dinner and a night's stay. Friendly and attentive staff, locally sourced ingredients and excellent food, comfortable rooms (superb breakfast too). We will return. Fully recommend!

A warm welcome when we arrived without a booking on a Thursday lunchtime. Limited menu for a very good price and a specials board. We selected the salmon from the specials and beef carpaccio for starters. Both excellent. Followed by the two mains on offer. Again great with accompaniments of roasted vegetables and kale. Wine by the glass and real ale met each of our wants. Very enjoyable lunch.

Fabulous Sunday lunch. A little gem in the middle of countryside.Great service, friendly but non intrusive. Pumpkin soup starter was full of flavour and silky smooth.Roast beef tender, Yorkshire pudding fluffy and crisp and roast potatoes tasted delightful and rich.Wine selection great and good value. I didn't have dessert, but parter had the sticky toffee pudding with caramel sauce, which was 'best ever'.Can't wait to return to try the Al Carte menu and specials.

Our fourth date night here this year. Each visit has been delightful. A little bit out of the way, but well worth the effort. Very friendly and attentive staff, two really lovely restaurant areas, plus a bar. Food is fantastic, the mussels were perfect. Definitely return again in the new year.

We were fortunate enough to enjoy a lovely meal at Saracens Head on a bright October weekend. My steak and ale pie with smokey mash and parsnips was excellent. Other members of our party were very pleased with their luncheon choices of venison and their vegetarian main course. The crispy belly pork was also much enjoyed. To end our meal on a delightful sweet note, we enjoyed the sweet and tart blackberry and apple crumble, a luscious vanilla creme brulee, and a rich affogato. The presentation and service were wonderful!

Second visit to the Saracens. It’s a special place with old school English charm, not so easy to find nowadays. With unfussy and down-to-earth rooms, the emphasis here is on the food & hospitality. The chance to spend the night at a Georgian inn with a perfectly idyllic rural setting, best enjoyed in the garden with a pint of Wherry. Food highlights this time were the pork belly starter and perfectly done, succulent local Blickling steak. The welcome: everyone works hard here but a special shout out for Robbie, a service star who makes it all happen in the bar and restaurant - a great guy. Looked forward to coming back here each evening after days out exploring.

Expect a very warm and friendly welcome and some very fine food. Not your average pub grub but excellent well thought through menu. If you’re staying on the Wolterton Park estate this establishment is perfect. We ate Wednesday evening and also enjoyed a very fine Sunday roast lunch. Local and fresh produce you couldn’t wish for more. When we return to Wolterton the first reservations I make is at the Saracens.
