What an amazing place. Rooms very comfy and cosy, the swimming pool, sauna and hot tub are well looked after and nice to use, especially when only 4 people are allowed in during the time slot. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Big dog friendly place. They made us feel so welcome and gave us a relaxing time away.....and the food, words can't express how unbelievable the food was. So tasty, every mouthful was a delight and as I informed them prior that I was vegetarian, they made extra meals for me to choose from which weren't just boring macaroni cheese or plants burger. I had an the choice of mushroom tagliatelle, spinach and paneer cheese curry and the second night I was given the most amazing mushroom Wellington.Thank you so much and I will definitely rebook next time we are down that way.

A lovely gem in a beautiful location. Our room was beautiful, with plenty of space, a comfortable bed and huge bathroom. The restaurant was amazing, Alex is a talented chef and we couldn’t fault the food. Ingredients are obviously fresh and local and breakfast and dinner were delicious. Lovely staff who couldn’t do enough for us. Definitely recommend Greenbanks for a great stay!

We had a wonderful holiday at Greenbanks. Nothing was too much trouble and all the staff were friendly and helpful. One of our party is disabled: the facilities and accommodation were perfect for access and use. We used both the barn self-catering, which is very well adapted for disabled people, and some of the other hotel rooms which were also easy to access. The pool has a hoist and is kept at a warm temperature. Alex is a fabulous cook and delights in preparing a huge range of top-quality meals. If the food you like is not on the set menu just ask Alex and he will make it for you. Some of our party are vegan and Alex produced some incredible meals for them. The grounds are beautiful and contain a lake. There is also a BBQ pit which guests are welcome to use. A very highly recommended hotel.

The staff are lovely and can't do enough for you during your stay. The room I stayed in was fantastic and the food was delicious. The views in the areas are lovely and the surroundings are peaceful and tranquil. Highly recommended.

I stayed at this hotel for business as opposed to leisure. The room was perfect, every amenity you could need. The bed was divine and I slept like a baby. I very much enjoyed the breakfast and the staff are all very welcoming and helpful. I will most certainly be back again!

Disabled? Need a peaceful beautiful place to stay? We can recommend Greenbanks Barn 100% The owners Julie & Alex can't do enough for you always on hand to help ... Mum is wheelchair bound and uses a hoist to get in and out of bed ... which in the barn included being able to be lowered into a bath too ... and the swimming pool... Ramps everywhere ... We had the upstairs too for myself husband and two young adult kids... spacious accommodation. . Comfy beds and a superb view from the main bedroom. Spacious bathroom with separate shower and bath.. Dad spent every day by the fishing lake. We had access to the pool with hot tub and sauna which was so clean and easy to use with the wheelchair... The restaurant boasts the most fantastic food top quality and presented like a top end london restaurant... Very impressed and would love to return ...

The room we was given for the night of our wedding was a beautiful room but it honestly felt like the heating was on causing an uncomfortable nights sleep. The view was amazing. As it was my wedding night and the room cost over £140 I did expect a few little extras but none were given. There was no kettle, tea or coffee on display and when asked i was told its in a draw but it was a bit too late by then. I even read the booklet in the room to see if it stated where they were hidden. We went to breakfast late, our fault completely, but the food was nice but very little in portion. Orange juice was offered but given in the smallest glass and no top up offered, same with the coffee. We was offered a pastry and told to take one which was actually just one cut in half. For the price and if being my wedding night I definitely expected more and was left feeling disappointed.

Such nice owners, nothing is too much trouble and the food is amazing. Rooms were so spacious with a nice outside siting area and a nice walk around a lake.Food & drinks: Food was delicious, as a family we had chicken, lamb, burgers and venison pie, something for everyone ?

Avoid room 2 if you value a settled night earlier than 11.30pm at night. Booked here for one evening. There weren’t that many guests either which was good in away or the room may have been nosier . I was put into a room which was right over the kitchen. I had been awake since 5am that morning so went up to my room 9pm ish with a view of getting a peaceful rest. Male voices heard laughing and joking , what sounded like a dryer being put on periodically during the tail end of the night and when looking out of my window to see what was going on I could see the small yard which lead from the kitchen, so I was anxious as I couldn’t settle down. I would never stay here again. Certainly not in room 2 but you would have to pay a fair bit more for another room which wasn’t worth the money. Food was lovely but expensive. Staff were all lovely but shame about the lack of peaceful rest in my room. Wasn’t even offered a complimentary breakfast ( £15!!) after I’d said how Noisy it was. If you have to stay here do NOT go for the standard double room priced aprund £89.

Stayed for two nights recently in order to go to a wedding at a nearby venue. We stayed in a room outside the main accommodation. On arrival the room smelt musty and damp but that improved once the room was aired. Everything was clean and the room had a fridge and microwave and kettle. Cups, plates and cutlery provided but curiously despite the fridge, no glasses. Can only presume that was due to their being an on site restaurant and bar. It seems that the owners do not clean the rooms during your visit but do reserve the right to enter the room to turn off electrical equipment and there were some strong reminders and do and don’t s in the room booklet. We ate in the restaurant and the food was good although food and drink seemed pricey for the environment. Our full English breakfast was ok, although bacon was thin and any continental offer seemed just to consist of cereal. What was disappointing, bearing in mind that the venue is often used as accommodation for guests attending nearby weddings, was breakfast was only from 8am to 9 am on Saturday and 8.30 am to 9.30 am on Sunday, so no real lie in after the wedding. Room cost £272 for two nights and with a two course dinner for two with a bottle of wine and a couple of drinks after dinner came to another £100 or so . All in all it seemed quite a pricey stay for an area which did not seem to have much to offer apart from the wedding venue

We stayed at this hotel so that my husband could attend a nearby course in blacksmithing. The situation was excellent for the course but was also a very good place to stay. We had a room on a self catering basis for two nights and bed and breakfast for one night. The kitchen was well equipped and perfect for my husband’s early starts. Everything was working and attractive to the eye….quite important as I spent more time in the room than my husband did.The owners were very friendly and helpful. The variety of accommodation available is ideal for family/friend combinations. I hope we find a need to go back to the area so we can stay again.
