The weather was icy. Inside there were three log fires, two log burners and a 'pretend'. However, nothing pretentious about the welcome or the ambience. We knew what to expect of the menu since the chef has made the Ploughshare his new home having left his kitchen at Necton, where we were regular guests. Excellent service and really tasty well presented food. Mum, dad and son dining whilst staying in the village. Creamy garlic mushrooms delicious, apple/walnut/Stilton pate delicious starter. Main courses also excellent. Strawberry cheesecake fabulous desert. Thank you chef and waitresses.

Went for a lunchtime meal mideek with my wife, 2friends and their Newfoundland, welcomed in to the pub, had a great meal with some local beer brewed in Beeston, nice log fire and arm
