Continental feel to this restaurant. We thoroughly enjoyed our food service and hospitality this evening. Our main courses were lovely as were the desserts - please do try the bread & butter pudding with prunes & armagnac, you won't regret it! Staff were efficient and friendly as was Colin, our chef, who came from the kitchen and spoke with each table. We recommend this restaurant and will definitely return!

This is an expensive restaurant, also a little more eccentric, many of the dishes look amazing and taste great, but I am afraid a Dover soul is not worth what we paid as a catch of the day.The owner will come and speak to every table and is happy to discuss the food he has cooked.The service charge is added into the bill.Sea food platter and lobster do look very nice as well.

We had a beautiful meal at the Old Forde seafood restaurant at Thursford this evening. The meals were absolutely fabulous, the crab au gratin, scallops, sea bass & lobster surperb! wonderful company from the owner Colin, Sarah and all the staff, what a wonderful atmosphere & lovely food & company. We booked well in advance to eat here and it did not dissapoint.A small but select dining experience of beautifully cooked seafood. The food was beautifully presented hot and flavoursome. Most of the food is home cooked local and fresh. The old forge was not cheap eating but given the very generous portions and fine wine ,we were very happy.
