I have lived in the area for a few years and there are three Chinese takeaways next to each other on Sprowston Road! The only one I hadn't used until recently was China Star, which I regret! Because the food here is superb. It's hot, fresh and well cooked and served by friendly staff. My only issue is that the place is so popular there's often a long wait, and the card machine they use is a nightmare! So take cash if you can. But mid week is better. Had sweet and sour Cantonese chicken strips with noodles and chips. The chicken came out of the dish stuck together and was like eating rubber it was disgusting. The noodles were fine. The chips were shaped like chips but nothing inside them just a plateful of fatty batter.Really disappointed as we went by the marking of 4.6 review. Shall not be returning

Had a meal from here last night, the food was lovely, well cooked and nice and hot. I had a chicken chow mein, rice, lemon chicken and sweet and sour chicken balls, all of which were really tasty. I would definitely buy from this Chinese takeaway again.
