Food good but no “proper” vegan dessert, just a sorbet! It’s very simple to make, for instance, a plant based cheesecake!

Super atmosphere. Went to celebrate my daughters birthday. The staff were great . My daughter and myself ordered the haddock and chips which were great but my husband had the belly pork pie which was to put it politely not good. So much poor guality meat and the cabbage and mashed potato was no better. My husband did pass comment and felt when paying the bill including drinks and a sweet came to over £100 as a gesture of good will the price of the offending meal could have been refunded.

Lovely cosy pub to spend some time in on an Autumn day. It's very popular so booking is essential if you want to have a Sunda Roast. Nice choice of beers and the food came out quick, even though the place was busy and we had a large group. Beer Gardens also nice in the summer.

Had a great roast dinner, the food was good, (star of the roast was the beef ?) and the service was excellent. Billie made sure we were well looked after and was a big hit with my daughter. First class, we’ll be back ? Thanks Mike.

Lovely atmosphere. Extremely busy but we'll organised. Dog friendly. Excellent roast. I enjoyed the small pumpkin roast. They even do dog roasts so they don't miss out. Staff very friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend the place. Also their gold card is a good deal. We got one and it can be quite a saving on your bill plus other good deals. You need to book to be sure you can be assured of a table due to the fact of how busy the place is.

Had a wonderful night! staff were very friendly and accommodating, especially our server Mia. I had the Duck Breast which was absolutely fantastic, with a good selection of beers. Would defiantly recommend booking due to how busy it was!

This is a fantastic traditional pub with a great selection of beer and superb food. We often go here for dinner but went for our first roast today, and as expected it was fab! Buzzing atmosphere, friendly staff and despite it being very busy still such a great service, shout out to our waitress Becky! ? Would definitely recommend! ?

Lovely traditional English pub with great reasonably priced food. Excellent service from our lovely waitress Billie. We had a thoroughly delicious late Sunday roast - can’t recommend enough. We will definitely be back!

Had a lovely time here! Tried a prawn starter which was delicious. I had a mushroom burger which was great too. Good parking onsite ?Service and all staff were kind and food came in good time. Photos I took aren't the best quality.

on arrival it appeared that my reservation was not on the computer. after asking if i had the wrong pub. no. he asked me to prove i had called, which i did. i was offered a table for an hour. for sunday lunch? he was rude, unkind, unhelpful, unapologetic, arrogant and extremely patronising. we left.

Arrived at about 2:30pm for a Sunday Roast, originally booked a table over the phone to sit in the bar however was given the option to sit outside if we wanted as it was a nice day, could take any table and there is a secondary station outside where a member of staff takes orders. Really friendly and informative staff alongside an amazing roast dinner. Couldn't fault it in any way, the portions were massive! The stuffing was particularly good, one of my favourites which you don't always see on a roast so that was a bonus! Will be back again..Parking: About 20 spaces, was full on a Sunday we were lucky to get one! If you're coming out of the city it's on your left before the pub, if you're coming into the city it's on the right after the pub.

Sunday Roast: Black Horse Earlham Rd, overall very good but, parsnip way too big & too hard to eat, roast spuds bit dry, extra gravy, re dry, charged at £1.50 without notice. Service awesome as always & never make me feel uncomfortable eating on own. Will I come back for roast, probably not as Temple Bar just up road & better value for money. Still would come for.other dishes ?

I have to say our meal was really disappointing, some of the vegetables were inedible and raw and generally the food was underwhelming made worse by the fact that the menu is quite pricey. We love going to the Black Horse for drinks and will continue to do so however we won't be coming for food again.

We chose The Black Horse for our Nan's wake last week, as it was somewhere we all had previously visited, many times, and a favourite of hers. From the first email to enquire Stu was brilliant. He explained all the options, costs etc. and made the whole process really smooth. The food was really good, and presented beautifully. It never ran out and we even took some home with us, as it was a hit with my children! I would highly recommend Stu and his team, the amazing chefs and The Black Horse for any functions.
