Superb food, superb service and great staff, always extremely polite. Lovely little place. The breakfast rolls are delicious. Not the cheapest but you pay for what you get. They certainly don't skint on the fillings ?

We called in for lunch and ordered a hot beef & onion roll and a chicken & stuffing roll with a pot of tea. Whilst waiting I popped out to the outside toilets which were engaged. After 5 minutes a member of staff came out who had obviously been smoking in there. I went back to our table and the food was collected from the smoker who had prepared the food by another member of staff. The beef & onion roll was so disappointing as there were two tiny pieces of beef with a minuscule amount of onion. The chicken roll was slightly better. For £18 we felt underwhelmed and almost ripped off. We always try to support independent businesses but this encourages use of the multinationals as you know what you will receive.

Stopped off here for lunch on our way back up north. Excellent sandwiches & cakes and wonderful service. Loved it!

Take away 2 medium (normal I’d say) sandwiches 1 Cornish pasty. Ham salad 2 slices, chicken 4 small pieces. HOW MUCH? £14.05. Always like to support local, never again. Rip off the visitors but not the new local resident! Shame on you. Such a shame but we will stick to the little tea pot.

Decided to go out for breakfast and popped into this cafe/ bakery. We ordered 2 sausage and egg rolls, a pot of tea and a can of Fanta. The egg was rubbery and the sausages (2 in each roll ) just basic. Nothing could have prepared us for the bill. £17.40!! For basically 4 sausages, 2 eggs 2 rolls a tea and a can of pop! We asked for the receipt and were horrified to find each roll was £6.30! At least Dick Turpin wore a mask when he robbed people. I don't mind paying a lot for decent food however this was neither decent or value for money. The prices on the wall behind counter do not give a true reflection of what you will pay . Avoid at all costs !

We've visited Boroughbridge several times, but had never stopped here before. I wish we'd kept walking and gone somewhere else, to be honest. I paid £30 for a hot beef and caramelised onion sandwich (dry, leathery, thin slices of beef, a spoonful of onions, no gravy), a bacon sandwich (bacon was hard, overcooked, and hours old), chips (tasted weird and my daughter refused to eat them), two Diet Cokes, a gingerbread bear (large and cute), and a slice of carrot cake (very moist, but not convinced it wasn't from a mix). Really disappointed in the quality of the hot food. We won't be back.
