I love this little cafe.Good fresh sandwiches, glorious cake and wonderful coffee.The few negative (but amusing) reviews on here just make me even more of a fan of the place.

Stopped by when visiting filey, I had a sausage butty and my partner had a bacon and egg butty. Both really enjoyed our food it was cooked beautifully, very tasty! Pot of tea for two was lovely. Service was excellent didn't have to wait long at all for our food or tea. Definitely recommend.

I was very shocked during a recent visit to Filey when I politely asked the 'gentleman' behind the counter if he could feed a vegan. The answer was a firm NO and I was told to go over the road and eat some grass!!!!I've given one star for each but only because there's no option for no stars.

Arrived and sat down, my Autistic son was touching the ice cream glass, I was about to move him seats and the owner said to him stop doing that. I told him he would not understand as he was autistic and would not respond to him. He said move tables before he wrecks the joint. He was touching the ice cream glass not smashing up the place. I'm not sure how touching some glass is wrecking the joint. We left at this point. My son has a disability and does not deserve to be treated and spoken to in this way. Please avoid. Absolutely no understanding of social disabilities. No deserves to be spoken to like that. We went round the corner and sat in a different cafe with no issues he sat quietly and ate his bacon sandwich.

Perfect seaside cafe, amazing mix of Yorkshire and Thai! Freshly made Thai food, which is extremely tasty and great value for money (other places would charge double) coffee and hot drinks are very good and a good selection of cakes. A gem of a find in Filey, we will be returning often!

We popped to Filey for a drive and a spot of lunch. Discovered the Coffee Lounge by chance and what a find! Enjoyed a very nice breakfast sandwich and a cuppa on a very cold day. Hubby the ultimate coffee snob really enjoyed the coffee. Only small premises yet the seats are comfy and the staff and the customers were very friendly as we are newcomers to the area. We were too late to try the Thai food yet it will be our excuse to return. Absolutely smashing - see you again soon x

It said it was good coffee but it was more than that! The owner is called Richard, I know this because there were so many regulars who spoke to him. It is a small place and it was full. People sat outside too. We only had drinks but others around us had food and complemented Richard on how lovely the bacon and cakes were. They also do take out and ice cream. It is right near the front but is really reasonable. We will be back and would recommend to others.

Just by chance we noticed The Coffee lounge serving Thai food so decided to book one evening and we were not disappointed. The food is freshly cooked, colourful and very tasty, you can take your own alcohol. The food is very reasonably priced and they also offer a takeaway service. We will definitely be returning customers when in Filey its a hidden gem.

We stopped here for an early morning cuppa before descending on the food and drink festival. Grabbed a table outside and ordered inside. Good strong cup of tea served in a cup and saucer. Staff friendly and helpful and prices very reasonable.
