Came for Sunday carvery for our daughters birthday. I have to say it was probably the best carvery I have had. Yorkshire puddings were homemade ? and the veg was all fresh and a good variety. The meat was lovely too. Had a coffee at the end of the meal and the homemade shortbread was delicious. Will definitely come back.

A unique setting in what must have once been an old cinema or small theatre. You walk upstairs, pass through a bar that seems as if last updated in cinema times, through to the restaurant area. Very much a Pirates of the Caribbean themed space. The menu had a great choice, including kids and smaller sized options. We both had the fish and chips which were the best we have had in many years, good sized portions as well, for £13.95 each, super value. We shared a home made Bakewell Tart that was delicious. The service was just right, well timed and friendly. We will be returning in the near future.

We come across this place on a rainy Monday night when most places were shut, however it proved to be a stroke of luck on our behalf,my wife had the lamb shank she said it was beautiful and I had the fish pie it was crammed with seafood and tasted delicious,a very friendly place recommended.

Searching for somewhere to have a proper Sunday lunch and we came across The buccaneer. What a really pleasant surprise. It was a carvery Sunday lunch with a good choice of meats and vegetables. We both had a sumptuous and hearty meal. Very good value for money, great tasting and very friendly staff. We will definitely be going again when we are next in Filey...I would highly recommend

Honestly doesn’t look much from the outside but the food and service were lovely. My husband had steak and I had scampi it was really good. They serve you to your table if you are wanting drinks, it was that good we booked in for Sunday dinner the next day which again was amazing. Nothing was too much trouble. The bar is in a separate area which we liked from the restaurant and the prices were very good. Entertainment was fantastic even the owner was chatty and made us feel welcome

Best Sunday dinner I've tasted in years we'll since the last time I was there? Roast potatoes just like my mum used to make, (big compliment) Will be back.

I was disappointed with the way we were treated we hadn’t planned on coming here but it was cold. It was my son’s 18th birthday so we wanted to celebrate it with him, we were only going to have one drink in here then go to the next pub but we found ourselves forced to order food there were 12 of us some of us wanted food and the others didn’t. We were shown to our seats and told how it all worked. We looked at the menu and the owner came up to us and said those who weren’t eating had to move we declined as we went together and wanted to stay together, so they got there food which they told me wasn’t very nice lumpy mash and chewy meat, while they were eating the owner came up to us again and asked us to move to a bigger table even though he put us on these 2 tables that he joined together so we moved, I don’t understand why he couldn’t leave us alone I would have understood if they were busy but they weren’t. We decided to get some puddings that was a mistake the custard was cold and the apple pie tasted really bad, my son had a cheese cake that was so stiff his folk wouldn’t go through it. We had a little girl with us as this was a family celebration she was struggling to eat her meal and they kept trying to take her plate even though she hadn’t finished they never left us alone and was starting to really get on my nerves. We all finally finished eating and straight away they tried moving us again we were just finishing our drinks and letting the food settle but that wasn’t good enough for the owner he said he needed the table for others to have there meal once again there was no one waiting and still not busy as there were only 5 other tables taken at this point or that would have been fine with it. We decided to just leave I will never go in there again and we are locals we have all lived here all our lives.

Great food. Menu has good choices. Quirky pub n restaurant. Filey has limited places to visit options for pub grub . This is the best. Food was like home cooked meal. We had Sunday Carvery. Enjoyed it so much we returned during the week.

Wed eve soup and main 2 for £25. Soup was very thick and very peppery. My husband had the 10oz rump steak with chips onion rings and salad. The steak was cooked very nicely.I had the steak pie , which was served in an individual dish with a pre made pie crust. I was disappointed as I expected a portion of traditional double crust pie. The veg was fine and the chips.
