my family and i visited this place on 14/01/24. we waited to be seated and were taken to a table that hadn’t been cleaned. the waiter cleaned it on our arrival. nice start… had a browse of the obscenely long menu. when a menu takes up 2 sides of a3 paper, i am always hesitant, as i cannot comprehend how this amount food can be kept consistently fresh. i am vegetarian, so out of the endless list of dishes they offer, my 3 options were vegetarian carvery, a potato pie, or macaroni cheese (i’m not a child). brilliant… so i opted for the breaded garlic mushroom starter instead of a main course, and added a side salad and coleslaw. i went to the bar to order my food and asked for a raspberry gin and elderflower tonic. i watched the girl make the drink. poured the gin fine. then poured an insane amount of elderflower cordial into the glass, and handed it to me along with a bottle of tonic. when i ordered the elderflower tonic (which is stated on the menu as just that) i was under the impression that i was to receive a bottle of elderflower flavoured tonic. my mistake. maybe this cordial business is common practise and i am just old fashioned for a 20 year old. anyway, i couldn’t taste the gin for the elderflower cordial. sad. now… cast your minds back to my food order. the breaded garlic mushrooms came wholly drenched in oil and must have been deep fried. they were tiny (no more than 2cm each) and tasted like how i would imagine battery acid to taste. the coleslaw was completely tasteless and thrown into a warm dish. the salad was limp, with no dressing or soul, and also arrived in a warm bowl. maybe i’m out of touch with cordial in gin, but i know for certain that coleslaw and salad should not be served in hot dishes. they are definitely supposed to be cold. i briefly thought to myself, maybe i should have chosen the vegetarian carvery. however my mind was soon changed as my mother (who ordered the regular carvery) informed me that the vegetables were inedible and tasted/felt like they’d been frozen. this is coming from a woman who will eat effectively any food put in front of her. my poor little brother had a burger, and told me (once we had left the lacklustre establishment) that he’d rather have gone to the mcdonald’s across the road, as it would have been better. i agreed with him, because at least when you go to mcdonald’s you sign up for and can expect less than mediocre food. the waiter who cleared our plates asked us if we’d like to leave a review, so here you go sally. i don’t think we’ll return… sorry.

Good value breakfast. Very tasty. And unlimited trips. Coffee could be hotter and nicer. But breakfast was great otherwise. Staff were friendly. Sully served us, very pleasant.

The food was lovely and hot. But the cups of tea were a disappointment. One pot arrived without a lid !!!! And the tea pots were very chipped and in need of a good clean.

Came for some lunch with my little lad before he went back to school tomorrow. Matt welcomed us as soon as we walked in. We sat down and decided what we wanted and I went to order at the bar. Matt again served us and was lovely. Very polite. No complains regarding the food. Fast friendly service and the food was lovely. What more could you want?! Thank you so much.

Came for lunch today. My partner had a standard Carvery. I had smothered chicken. The service was first class as was the food. The price was really good value for money. Would recommend this place to anyone. We will definitely be back.Parking: Plenty of parking space. All wheelchair accessible.
