Very friendly and atmospheric, we had Sunday lunch and the fish and chips, both were excellent, but the fish was exceptional, rivals the Magpie at Whitby.

Enjoyed everything about the pub. Cosy and friendly atmosphere. Second time I have been this week. Delicious and hearty food. I'll come back for sure.

We enjoyed the early bird menu, the portions were good, the food was excellent, good quality at an affordable price. Puddings were delicious, make sure you leave some space!

This dog-friendly pub is staffed by some of the most accommodating bar staff ever. It's a true down to earth pub with generously stuffed pies and massive helpings. I can strongly recommend it to anyone visiting Kirkbymoorside.

As a Lancashire lad I can honestly recommend this rather "humble" in some respects place.. why? Because from the minute we walked in we were met with a smile and warm welcome.Great Timothy T ale, proper Brandy glass (,for The Fortunate One's Brandy, yes it does matter what glass its presented in).The food: Although some might sat basic, it was absolutely served fresh,piping hot,and more reasonably priced than most!.Top marks from this discerning Farnworth lad!..Oh,and the staff were equally pleasant and obviously love their work IMHO.

Staying in Kirkby Moorside on holiday, Great pub and friendly service from all the staff, Very attentive and welcoming, The food is amazing value and excellent, Visited twice so far had lamb shank excellent, Gammon ? Would highly recommend here for food, Will prob be visiting again really soon ??

Service good, staff friendly. Food , I cannot comment for myself as I wouldn’t touch it when I saw this place has a 1 star hygiene rating online as it was not shown in the window (I wonder why), family didn’t enjoy the food and the lemonade was old. Whole place is filthy. Wouldn’t eat food from a place that’s 1 star (Major Improvements Necessary) and wish I had researched it before coming in. Go elsewhere.
