Walked in and rang thebell. A miserable looking member of staff came out. I said hello, but was ignored. She didnt speak to us, just held a pad and pen in her hand. We ordered politely and she still didnt speak to us, apart from saying 11 in an abrupt manner. So, as i expect a reasonable amount of freindliness, i looked at her and she then managed to say 11 pound please. I paid and we sat down. The food was ok, but wouldnt go in again, as we both felt as if we were being a nuisance. Not a good experience!

Wandered into this lovely little cafe to try and get a buttie and coffee. No customers were in at first but as usual it filled up once I was in. I had a huge delicious Cappuccino coffee and a huge also very delicious bacon and egg and tomato sani, in a naughty white tea plate sized bap, as soft and tasty as you might hope for. All served with a lovely smile and in good time. And,..... I was sitting next to a lovely hot radiator on this wet wintery day. Guaranteed to cheer up a sad face in this lovely place. I will definitely come again and recommend it here. Can't wait actually. Thankyou Corner Cafe.

Been for lunch today. Food was not up to the usual standard and the serving staff member was rude to more than one customer. Won't be back in a hurry.

Stayed at oakforge cottage in the villageand wondered down for a coffee in the Saturday. The latte was lovely! It's a cute little cafe, I wasn't expecting much from it but it actually exceeded my expectations. We went for breakfast the following day and the breakfast was so cheap I wasn't expecting it to be great but it was perfect! Have had some pretty rubbish breakfasts staying in hotels etc but everything was nice and warm the hash browns were crispy the mushrooms were warm and delicious and the bacon was nice a thick! The food came out quickly too.

We stumbled on this cafe after walking from a nearby campsite. There was a big flashing ‘open’ sign in the window and it looked welcoming on first impression. We sat down and my husband went to the counter to order and pay for drinks and lunch. Our drinks were brought out first, minus my sons bottled drink. Didn’t think much of it and assumed the waitress would be back, so waited. When the food arrived, again there was no drink for my son, and when we enquired as to where it was we were told ‘we had left it on the counter’ thought this was a little odd and rather rude (obviously my husband did not notice this when he ordered). The waitress knowing this could easily have brought it with our drinks, but not wanting to make a fuss, my husband collected the drink from the counter himself. Then it came to almost 2pm and the waitress puts the ‘closed’ sign on the door. I notice this and say ‘oh they must be closing’ and try to hurry my son up who was still eating. A few minutes later, the waitress walks back into the room and turns off the light and removes our plates before my son had finished. We weren’t the only customers at this point and the whole atmosphere of the place was just weird. There was no obvious sign they were closing at 2 (we’d have chosen somewhere else if so, as hate to feel hurried) and if they were that adamant about closing on the dot they should have informed us when we ordered at about 1:35. Lunches aren’t served until 12:30, so it’s odd to close so soon after. Definitely would not recommend and would not return. Maybe locals are treated better, but if you’re not from around here I’d avoid. Dreadful, unfriendly and downright rude staff.

Called in by chance and glad we did. Two breakfasts and two teas, all freshly prepared, tasty and served hot. Friendly staff and a very sociable atmosphere. Will definitely return when we’re next in the area.
