We entered the building and waited to be served at the seated area.A young girl sat us and a young chap cleared the table but left the table sticky.15 minutes passed as we waited for any interaction from staff, we hadn't received a menu. The young staff continued to walk by and no one approached or spoke to us, they were continuing to seat people with menus. We got up and walked out right past the young lady who first seated us but she said nothing as we left.We proceeded to the local bakery where we bought a sandwich ?Staff need commutation training, it was poor.

Nice staff and scone but possibly the worst take out coffee I have ever had (and I get a lot)! Unfortunately the latte was just a weak coffee with what tasted like powdered milk? Maybe an off day, but if not please match the coffee to your lovely welcoming smile and nice surroundings.

Great food but always seems busy. It can take a while to be served but the staff work hard to get to you ASAP. It's busy because it's good, especially the hot pork sandwiches.

Food great and staff so friendly!

Had a delicious pork sandwich with the embellishments. The deli bits looked inviting but we managed to resist them. You can park in the square apparently for free, although we parked near the station by the playground and walked.

My husband and I had lunch in the Deli on Saturday last.We did have quite a wait. But expect that when food is cooked toorder. No problem. While we were waited we ordered a tea and coffee. I always like hot water with my tea. So when it didn't arrive I asked the waitress if I could have hot water. She seemed confused and repeated my request "hot water?" yes thank you.Again "hot water?" Yes boiling water please. The tea was very good. I asked her what brand you used. Again she looked confused, and said in a very off hand way "I don't know".Okay. So she just walked away, didn't say she would ask. I feltfoolish. So the food arrived (30 + mins) My shepherd pie was lovely. The tiny amount of veg (one broccoli floret, 3 small carrot's) arrived stone cold. My husband was not to happy withhis meal. But I think he just ordered the wrong meal. The Gyros wasn't as authentic, as he's used too. Pitta bread and separate french fries. Beetroot on the side. We waited at the counter for quite a while bill. We were ignored. Eventually I got someones attention. Such a shame. I saw some amazing sandwiches. The service was very sub standard for such a nice venue.

Stumbled across this delightful by complete accident and we were initially excited as the decor is beautiful. I came with my mam and 1 year old daughter who needed changing almost as soon as we arrived. Horrified to find out their changing facilities were a changing May which I had to lay down on the bathroom floor? Luckily nobody else came in while we were changing otherwise they would have had to of literally stepped over her to get to a toilet. Had she of been newborn I would have probably left there and then. We had the Canadian breakfast which, for £10 was not great, consisting of 3 shop bought American pancakes, 2 rashers of bacon, some scrambled eggs and a tiny drizzle of surup. £7 for one slice of shop bought white toast and 2 dried eggs for my daughter, insane. No child friendly cutlery or plates to suit her needs so I’m thankful I had brought my own. Though they had a highchair I don’t think this qualifies being child friendly based on everything else we went though. Won’t be going back, real shame as it had such potential but it’s all style and no substance unfortunately.

Excellent cafe in the centre of Malton, ideal for a lunch with friends.Wide menu selection from sandwiches to full meals and many specials also offered, I have been a few times and thoroughly enjoyed the food every time. Steak sandwich with chips was a highlight
