Never been made to feel more welcome in a local pub. Everyone was friendly. We arrived wanting to watch the F1 on Sky sports and was swiftly accommodated. The toilets were clean and products were left available for use by patrons, which was a really kind touch. The pub is 100% dog friendly and our pooch was greeted with snacks and a toy and told he had free reign as the beer garden and pub were secure. Popped in on Saturday with a large group of my friendsWhat a welcome!It was almost like walking into your own local. A friendly welcome fro the landlord and also the local regulars.Fantastic pub and excellent beer garden too.We will most certainly be planning another visit.Thank you for your warm hospitality, we look forward to seeing you all again soon !Richard & the Whitby gang.

The most friendly, welcoming and traditional pub we have walked into in a very long time. The landlord and staff made us feel so welcome. We popped in for one drink but ended up staying for 2 hours. The beer garden was a perfect suntrap to enjoy a drink or two. We will definitely be visiting The Royal Oak in the very near future.
