Lovely place but take care if you are gluten intolerant. Although Menu has gluten free bread options. They either aren't GFor there could be considerable cross contamination.Dietary restrictions: Waiter didn’t understand GF was incredulous and a tad rude when asked for a non malt vinegar. So it was no great surprise when Bread turned out not to be GF or cross contaminated. I was seriously unwell for days and uncomfortable for weeks after getting a gluten flair up after eating there. They offer GF as a standard so should know and understand what it and get it right rather that paying PC lip service. Take great care don’t trust it’s GF.

My 3rd time at The New Derwent Bistro. Every visit has been 5☆Today we had the afternoon tea. Wow, from the presentation to the taste to the quality of food amazing.Such a warm welcome, beautiful table set up ready for us (we pre booked) to service just excellent. Staff are attentive, the whole area lovely and clean and such a great price. I'll 100% be back.

Can not recommend The New Derwent Bistro enough. Exceptional staff - they all work so hard and provide a fantastic service. Compliments to the chef he works so hard to ensure food comes out in a timely manner. Great location for a quick cup of tea and slice of cake! The cake is that good, I asked for a birthday cake to be made for my mums 70th birthday. The cake and cupcakes Gemma made far out weighed my expectations. Thank you New Derwent Bistro your all amazing!
