I normally love this place but on this visit there was a distinctly unfriendly feel. It was also cold and needs a clean, there were no drinks at all other than tapwater, the samosas were nice but the amount of fat in the okra dish was appalling...the vegetables were in a lake of unpleasant tasting oil....it was the worst curry I have ever had. I had the lamb dish which was tasty but still unnecessarily oily. I left feeling quite unwell and didn't eat again until the next day....read full review
Dont be put off by the basic cafe vibe. The chef really knows how to cook! Unbelievably good food - the samosas (chicken or lamb) are just delicious with light pastry and subtly spiced filling. We have also had the channa dal, the lamb and chicken dishes and the sag aloo - all superb. The lamb is obviously cooked very slowly and is so tender and soft in a rich thick gravy that is enhanced by the fact the meat has been cooked on the bone so the marrow melts into it.
