I have visited on a number of occasions. This time we had dinner in The Orchid restaurant. We went for a drink in the bar at Fletchers Restaurant first which was lovely but completely empty. We then went to the Orchid which again was so quiet with only 1 other table occupied. The food was delicious, although hugely overpriced at £48 for a fillet steak with a few chips and an extra £5 if you wanted peppercorn sauce. The service was unfortunately extremely slow for drinks even though the restaurant was empty.

The best hotel I have stayed in ! Starting from the beautiful drive , the warm welcome to my luggage being in my room before I was. The staff are young however by far the best trained and most polite I have come across in any hotel. The room was beautiful , spa truly luxurious and the food amazing. We ate in Fletchers and in their Michelin star restaurant, both exceptional. I didn’t see any housekeeping team however our room was spotless and they even typed out embossed notes to inform you if they moved anything. I’ve stayed in a lot of expensive and 5* star hotels and generally find the hype doesn’t match the experience. This hotel was so good we extended our two night stay to 3! I wasn’t drinking and the mocktail a were better than most cocktails. As for the gym… world class! Two negatives: the TV was in the left wall so you couldn’t watch it in bed. The bath was extremely large with vertical ends so you couldn’t soak in it. Highly recommend!

Decided to stay for 2 nights as I thought it wasn’t really worth staying just for one as you’d be be checking in mid afternoon and checking out mid morning and wouldn’t really see much of the place. However you are allowed to arrive early and use the spa/gym so you could maximise your stay with just a one night stop over, which I thought was a bonus. Arrival, great and valet parking, although it was a bit intimidating to pull up in my old banger next to all the Rolls Royces and Ferraris. The old banger was parked discreetly at the rear of the car park, wouldn’t want that ruining the image! Check in fine. Great gym and spa where a few hours disappeared quickly Room excellently furnished and a fancy bathroom and a decanter of complimentary damson gin was a nice touch. Dined in both nights at Fletchers restaurant, beef wellington was excellent. Other restaurants on site are available. I’ve never seen as many staff per visitor, who were all excellent. Rented a couple of electric bikes from the hotel for a brief tour of the area. We stayed on a “special offer” and were allocated room 16, minor issues with noise from diners/drinkers outside and some annoying piped music Overall great stay, paid handsomely for the privilege but I understand quality costs and happy to pay for it as an occasional treat

I surprised my fiancé with a trip to Grantley Hall. We stayed just the one night but this wasn’t anywhere near enough so will definitely be back in the very near future. Everything about this hotel is amazing, the pristine buildings, spa and grounds, the fantastic and attentive staff, the delicious food and drink. Could not recommend more highly.

We have just returned from a 3 night stay at Grantley Hall to celebrate my husband’s birthday and can confirm it really is a sensational place! The renovation has been completed to such an impressive level - everywhere you look is aesthetically gorgeous with stunning grounds and decor. A stroll around the grounds is a must, particularly the Japanese garden. We loved the many options to sit and enjoy the surroundings. Our stay wasn’t without some minor issues, some of them entirely avoidable, but the staff dealt with them very well and it would not prevent us from returning. The staff are predominantly young and absolutely outstanding. From the moment of arrival at the gate house you are warmly welcomed and this continued throughout our stay, in every area, where we were treated in a friendly and courteous way. We stayed in a deluxe room, which was really comfortable and spacious and the bathroom linens are so plush! The bed was very comfortable but we did struggle with the pillows, despite the pillow menu available, with no memory foam or latex options offered. I have seen the lack of pillow choice as a regular theme amongst the reviews for the hotel so hopefully they can rectify this soon. We used the spa daily and felt the facilities offered were excellent, although some shade options around the outside spa area would be welcomed for the fairer skinned amongst us please. We liked the opportunity to order drinks whilst relaxing in the spa and also enjoyed lunch on the outside spa terrace one day, which was delicious. We did also have a massage but sadly this was rather disappointing. I was told it was the most popular option, which is why we chose it, but neither of us would have considered it a massage as the touch was extremely light and did not address any tension at all. We thought the food offerings for a hotel with only 47 rooms were plentiful and delicious. We had the afternoon tea on arrival and then ate at 88 one evening and Shaun Rankin on our last night, having the taster menu in both. We also opted for the non alcoholic pairing in Shaun Rankin - we thought it was done brilliantly and really did complement the dishes served. We very much enjoyed the smart and more relaxed ambience at 88 with Shaun Rankin being more of a formal atmosphere, as you’d expect. The service was brilliant throughout all of our meals. Breakfast was a combination of a small buffet area and an a la carte menu offering - all delicious. They happily provided some berries for my cereal each morning if they weren’t out.l and I can also recommend the pancakes! We arrived with our EV on just 30 miles remaining after a long drive and they immediately offered to charge it on one of their 5 charging points. We used it during our stay and the staff ensured it was fully charged ready for our drive home. I feel like I’ve run out of superlatives to describe Grantley Hall - we absolutely loved our stay and can’t wait to return ?

My husband and I had the most fabulous weekend at Grantley Hall celebrating our 10 year anniversary. The staff and service here are absolutely fantastic! From the moment you get to the drive you are greeted and made to feel very welcomed. Throughout the weekend at various dinner reservations and within the room we had lots of lovely cards from the staff congratulating us on our anniversary. We upgraded our room to the junior suite and it was a gorgeous and lovely sized room. We also got the chocolate dipped strawberries and they were delicious! The spa was also fantastic, both our treatments were incredibly relaxing and the spa itself felt very clean and you were able to order drinks by the pool. We ate at both the Shaun Rankin restaurant and 88 and both were delicious and service was very good! This was my second visit to Grantley Hall and it certainly won’t be my last! Highly recommend a visit!

My wife and I had afternoon tea with our son. The venue was elegant, the food was delicious and beautifully presented, and the service was impeccable. We would definitely recommend this experience, and hope to return again. Unfortunately it was raining so we couldn’t enjoy the grounds which looked beautiful - mature trees, water, and elegant planting.

Just returned from a lovely day at Grantley Hall with my husband, lovely treatments in the Spa organised by the amazing Poppy Roberts, ever the professional! My treatment with Amy was just what I needed! Need to book in advance as it gets very busy, as it's so good! Followed by lunch in Nortons, great service from Johnathan and Sam. Then delighted to have time with the New GM Nuno, wonderful that he takes time to interact with his guests.

So went for afternoon tea on Saturday. Wonderful experience and am hoping that the team from GH see this. Great welcome at the gatehouse, are we expecting you etc. and the lovely drive down to the building. A further welcome from Tai (?) to help with the parking - pls park next to the Rolls Royce Sir. Top tip - turn up in a flash car that looks good out front if you want this - reminds me of the parking outside the Dorchester or the Hotel Hermitage in Monte Carlo. We were a bit early for our sitting so had a walk in the gardens - what a privilege to look at the planting and the kitchen garden. Swimming pool looks good too. So the tea was exactly what was expected and absolutely excellent. If you wanted to pick up the most pedantic of feedback in the pursuit of excellence then I offer my personal feedback (it was still 5* as an experience). Maybe the staff are a little too attentive in asking how things are going - we maybe had this 6/7 times which can be a little annoying. Personally a bit more filling in the sandwiches would be appreciated. The sandwiches were too cold - a tiny more standing time before bringing them from the fridge perhaps? And similarly an amount of condensation on the wonderful and delicate cakes - I do not believe that there is a solution here. Warm scones were fantastic and the quality of the jam (strawberry and raspberry) was off the scale. The branded doggy bag for the cakes is an excellent touch. And thank you so much for the back office team in trying to locate my tracker card - what fantastic customer service in their emailing and reflective of your brand. I'll be back.

Another fantastic weekend away at Grantley Hall. This was our sixth visit and it just gets better and better here. From the Spa staff to Hotel staff they just can’t do enough for you. A big shout out to Poppy Spa Guest experience Manager and Reece in the bar for their excellent customer service. We ate at 88 one night which was as good as ever and the other night in Fletchers . The food was excellent . No wonder Grantley is always winning awards. You don’t get much better than staying here and we can’t wait to return in the winter

This was our first visit for my husbands 50th birthday, and just wow!! The service leading up was exceptional, checking all details and making sure everything was perfect, thank you Miles. The building, decor and gardens are exquisite, please take the time to walk the course and enjoy! 5 star pure luxury all the way! The staff are INCREDIBLE. They have a training academy and invest in their staff which is very evident in the service levels. Mark on concierge is fabulous, chatting away, sorting your luggage and car. Julie checked us in with a welcome drink, fabulous. Jade on the bar was fabulous, explaining the history of the building and you must ask about the secret cocktail book shelf! The spa is Devine. A beautiful relaxing area, my husband enjoyed an inner peace massage with Sasha and said it was the best he has ever had. Bar and Restaurant EightyEight was the most incredible experience! Morgan on the bar was so lovely and knowledgeable and we loved our smoking garden cocktail he made for us! We asked for dramatic and we got it! Tai thank you for serving us in the restaurant. We ate: Chicken tea Red curry diver king scallop Roast cauliflower satay Korean style pork belly Robata grilled halibut Yorkshire beef fillet, sticky beef croquette Yuzu & lemon balm cream Tokyo chocolate cake Wow - a taste sensation! Breakfast was lovely. I opted for smoked salmon & scrambled eggs - delicious. Hubby had the full breakfast. Abraham checked us out and was just fabulous. This guy is a credit to your team. We enjoyed a walk in the gardens after breakfast and made a few purchases from the gift shop, jam and the Grantley Hall diffuser! The hotel smells amazing so wanted to take it home! Just blown away! My husband had the best birthday and we cannot wait to come back! The best hotel we have EVER stayed in!! Thank you! I have too many photos to share - so here is a few! Katey & Tony Dent (Sheffield)

On the Coronation weekend, we had the opportunity to have a cream tea, on Sunday afternoon. We have been for an evening meal at Easter and were served by Vad, he was very knowledgeable about our meal, which consisted of Wagu for the men and a great vegetarian option for the ladies. So returning for a cream tea , we were expecting a similar customer , the experience was hosted by Charlie, who was excellent too, Charlie passed on her love of the history of the hall, especially the gardens, she located a map of the grounds, came outside to share a view of the waterfall and set us on our way. We had an amazing time walking off the cream tea, compete with hotel produced jam, admiring the beauty in the sun. We ended with a trip to the gift shop, and helpful history lesson of the gift shop and came away with our pot of the jam. Grantley is an amazing place, with amazing staff and attention to detail.
