Thornfield Rd, Nosterfield, BedaleWent to the Freemasons for the first time for an early dinner today. The staff were really welcoming and professional and the bar and restaurant area is full of character and the atmosphere is very relaxed and dogs are welcome in the bar area. My wife had Rarebit with Tomato Chutney for a starter and Mushroom Risotto for her Main Course. I had Croquille St Jacque to start and Ox Cheek Bougignon for my Main. It was all beautifully cooked and easily the best meal we've had in a pub for years - a different standard altogether from the other pubs we've visited in the surrounding area. The menu had plenty of vegetarian and gluten free options too and was easy to read and understand the information about allergens. All in all a fabulous meal in a lovely, characterful pub, with friendly, professional staff who made you feel welcome. Thanks to all at the Freemasons and hopefully see you soon x

The Orchard at Grantley Hall
GRANTLEY HALL, RiponThe best hotel I have stayed in ! Starting from the beautiful drive , the warm welcome to my luggage being in my room before I was. The staff are young however by far the best trained and most polite I have come across in any hotel. The room was beautiful , spa truly luxurious and the food amazing. We ate in Fletchers and in their Michelin star restaurant, both exceptional. I didn’t see any housekeeping team however our room was spotless and they even typed out embossed notes to inform you if they moved anything. I’ve stayed in a lot of expensive and 5* star hotels and generally find the hype doesn’t match the experience. This hotel was so good we extended our two night stay to 3! I wasn’t drinking and the mocktail a were better than most cocktails. As for the gym… world class! Two negatives: the TV was in the left wall so you couldn’t watch it in bed. The bath was extremely large with vertical ends so you couldn’t soak in it. Highly recommend!

GRANTLEY HALL, RiponSuch a great evening. Stunning surroundings and attentive, friendly staff. The food was amazing. It was beautifully presented and tasted wonderful. Well satisfied and full by the end. Would definitely recommend.

Fletchers Restaurant
Grantley Hall, RiponThis was a return visit to Grantley Hall, our previous one being to Shaun Rankin's restaurant. The weather on our recent visit was awful - cold, windy and heavy rain but it was a haven of comfort the moment that we stepped through the door at Grantley. The meal was lovely but my husband wished that he had chosen the pheasant which I had rather than the mushroom risotto. The service was impeccable and the whole dining experience was so enjoyable that we intend returning.

Grantley Hall, RiponI booked a table at this place on a whim because of the Great British Menu connection. I just want to say that I have never enjoyed an evening of food as much in my life. We had the tasting menu and each dish was brilliant in its own way. Some were "just" lovely, others were revelations.I think the biggest accolade I can leave is that: I have a reputation for being a bit of a fussy eater, and there's loads I wouldn't normally try, foods I didn't think I'd like, many of those on the menu. I didn't leave anything on the plate at the end of any course.Well worth a visit. And I can't wait to go again to see what else is on offer!

The Bull Inn
Church St, West Tanfield, Ripon1st time we have stayed great atmosphere friendly staff food fab especially the sticky toffee pudding which was recommended by a delightful Young man serving us. Breakfast was excellent good quality ingredients. The bed and room was very clean and comfortable value for money we will return .
