Such a quaint little tearoom off the beaten track, I'm so glad we spotted all the great reviews for this place on TripAdvisor, we weren't disappointed. The hot chocolate was divine - so much so I've come home and treated myself to a velvetiser! Food was delicious. Really welcoming atmosphere. Would love to visit again in the summer months so we can take full advantage of the lovely garden area.

I had a fabulous time here yesterday. We arrived just as they were closing after a long walk in but they happily catered for us. The orange and gooseberry cake they had baked was absolutely incredible. The sweet orange drizzle soaked the cake just the right amount so that the taste was beautifully citrussy sweet whilst the cake held its impeccable texture. The gooseberries were marvellous - sweet, tangy, and grown metres from where we were sat.The coffee was also delicious. Wouldn't necessarily recommend the milkshake which I think was from a powder but everything else we had was sensational. The setting is great as well - Rosedale is such a moors highlight because of its remoteness away from the honeypot crowds at Goathland etc.

Lovely spot at the north end of Rosedale. Maggie is always welcoming ad makes wonderful cakes. Nice to sit in the sunshine, eat and drink and enjoy the view.

You know what it's like sometimes when you are really looking forward to an event only for it to turn out to be a total disappointment - well this was it. We had seen glowing items in magazines and gushing reviews on websites about this place and thought we were in for a real treat. Not so. The ham in the sandwich was very tasty but in sliced granary bread that could have come from any supermarket. The accompanying salad was shredded iceberg lettuce with a few slices of tomato and cucumber plus a dollop of coleslaw. If you are going to charge £8-40 for this at the very least you need to make an effort on presentation. Cakes were not brilliant either and the cream scone was just that, split in half and the jam and cream already in. Normally would expect to have the ingredients served separately. And the jam lacked taste and texture. The place itself is in a stunning location with great views from the garden. But inside it is less than inviting with bare tables and basic chairs - couldn't even be described as rustic. What did surprise is that how a place with a corrugated asbestos roof exposed to the interior cafe ever got passed health and safety inspection? Still, you win some you lose some and come away £34 worse off for experience. I did double check that I was at the same place as all the people giving it 5* reviews because I couldn't believe we had eaten at the same place.

A fabulous little tea room at the head of Rosedale, with absolutely breathtaking views. The food was lovely, and freshly made from locally sourced ingredients. It was that good, I left with a bag of pastries & scones.I will definitely be returning.

We spent two nights in the shepherd’s hut at Dale Head Farm Tea Garden. The hut was small but cozy, and very warm and comfortable. There was a double bed and single trundle bed available to use, and private bathroom nearby. Maggie, the host, was delightful - she gave us great options and directions for local pubs in the area for dinner, and chatter freely over breakfast. Full English breakfast was included, and we visited the Tea Garden for coffee and cake in the morning. Cakes were all homemade by Maggie, and delicious. Other products are all locally sourced. A very relaxing get-away for us.

My husband booked us an overnight stay at the Shepherds Hut at Dale Head Farm. We were warmly greeted by the lady in the cafe who went to get Maggie for us, who went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, showed us our hut and around the area, also showed us the tracks to walk to if we wanted to venture out. We settled in and went for some cake (it was my birthday after all) and it was amazing easily one of the best cakes I’ve ever had! We then decided to go for a walk to the local pub that Maggie had recommended the views were stunning as described and was so nice to see the sights. Came back had a lovely bbq and a cosy night in. Then woke up the next morning to a beautiful full English! Already been deciding when we can come again. Such a wonderful place full of wonderful people. Thank you x

Excellent tea, great owner and a thoroughly enjoyable refreshment stop for exploring Rosedale. Nice honey from adjacent farm on sale but pollinated by the flowers at the tea garden! Thoroughly recommended.

A true oasis at the Dale head. Excellent savouries and cakes with service to match. Pity about the awful milkshakes.

This is an amazing little find, off the beaten track and in a stunning location. Maggie is a truly great baker and the cakes and scones we had were stunning.Proper loose leaf tea served in China cups and tasty sandwiches, I had the cheese and banana chutney...beautiful!!Such an unusual place you must try it, we have lovely memories of a very tranquil and pleasant afternoon. The shepherd's hut looks amazing too, thank you so much, xx

We were recommended by Linda/Ian at Sevenford House. It had been snowing and we took a route along the old railway line and dropped down into the cafe. 7 of us walked there and 4 others drove up in car. The cafe is fantastic and quirky. Maggie and Mary (from the dairy she said!) really made us welcome. We had cake and the most enormous Teacakes ever! Lovely pots of tea too. What a lovely gorgeous place - highly recommended and we will certainly be back.
