We had a cake and coffee at Russell's and was very nice we had a coffee and cake which was very nice and will come back àgain next time we're in Pickering

We dropped in for late lunch and ordered a scone with jam and cream and their seasonal turkey and stuffing sandwich plus tea and coffee.The scone was crumbly, probably made a couple of days previously. The jam was really nice though, made by a local company.The sandwich was slapped down on the table and didn't look anything like the advertising poster. That showed a lovely multi grain sandwich but we got a pappy white bap. Filling was very nice though.It must have been near closing time as people were being evicted from one area so that cleaning could be done.A few minutes after we left the place was in darkness.

This is a local, independent Yorkshire bakery with a basic cafe, and Yorkshire baking is what they're especially good at. My son considers their traditional Yorkshire (Cornish!) Pasty one of the best things he's ever eaten. I too reckon it's up there with the best pasties I've ever eaten. Their cakes are excellent too. Go there after a slog across the Moors in cold weather and it will taste like the food of the Gods.

With a fussy eater with us, we needed to find somewhere to eat. This was a hidden gem. Food was nice and came out quickly, there were lots of options and lots of kids options. Toilets were nice and clean.Really good price for the food we got too. Would call again if I was in the areaKid-friendliness: Good options for children. Even fussy eaters

4 of us visited the cafe yesterday for lunch. Food was lovely, served fast and everything was piping hot. It's really good value for money. Toilets were spotlessly clean. Sausage rolls are amazing.

Lovely cafe with great food,coffee and cakes. We went everyday on our 3 day trip to Pickering. Food is always delicious. Staff are friendly and they allow dogs. Highly recommend.
No mash with the beef dinner, tinned peas and carrots. Roast potatoes next to extinction, couldn't find them. However, the cakes were absolutely awesome.

The Breakfast was incredible, coffee also incredible. Super quick service. Nice n quiet with absolute tunes on which aren’t loud either! 10/10 from me!

We called in for a coffee and was immediately greeted by a very miserable member of staff who told us to go to the back of the cafe. No hello, please or thank you. We did as we were told and sat with the other dog owners. The two older waitresses never acknowledged any of us but instead told us they needed to pass so the dogs needed to be kept under control. All of the dogs were under control, they obviously just don't like them being there. I never understand why businesses advertise as dog friendly when clearly they are not. What they actually mean is we'll take your money and tolerate the dog. The coffee was cheap tasteless rubbish. A complete waste of time and money.

We visited after leaving our train when we were at the NYNR Steam Gala. This cafe is a little gem! Staff are friendly, decor is basic but it is clean and has an extensive menu at very reasonable prices. The only problem is what to choose! We had two cheese & ham omelette with chips and salad, a large breakfast and a steak pie (declared the best ever) with chips, peas and gravy. We had teas and coffees and left stuffed!! The cakes and pastries in the window are amazing but we could not eat anything else. Highly recommended.
