We had a really lovely meal here while staying in Pickering. Best steak and ale pie I've eaten in a pub. Really good meal!

What a find! Came in without a booking but we're welcomed by the landlord. The food was excellent, and the dog was welcome too. We'll be back!

Visited here New Years Eve, booked a table through Facebook messenger for tea time, but on checking confirmation a few days before arrival was told they were closing at 3 as no tables were booked. (Our booking had been missed) however Andy offered us an early booking 2.00pm and offered us 1st drink on him and dessert, we pre ordered meals from menu as it was a Sunday ( roast roast) as we didn’t want a roast. Quickly shown to our VIP table in the corner ?. Drinks ordered and Wendy was on standby in prep for our pre ordered meals, Meal swiftly arrived which all 4 were excellent ( traditional home cooked food) very large portions. 4 almost clear plates, 4 full belly’s, so opted for 2 deserts to share (also delicious ) True to his word on settling bill 1st drink and desserts were free.(thank you) The welcoming and humour was so good we returned on the evening for a few drinks with the locals, Wendy had put on a lovely little buffet all free of charge. Such a lovely little traditional village pub with excellent hosts. Hope you’re still open when we return next time. Many Thanks Love from the TOURISTS. ? Hartlepool lot)

Came to Pickering for my birthday weekend. You were recommended and indeed the signage suggested we pay you a visit. We came Saturday at 5pm and Sunday at 4pm both times closed???

Often visit for evening meal which is fab and delicious home cooked food. Tried Sunday lunch and it was just how a real roast should be. Great choice of meats, mash and roasties, plenty on fresh veg, yorkies and served with real gravel. Hosting and staff all great and the landlord engages with all guests. Well worth a visit for evening meals or Sunday lunch. We normally book especially during spring summer months due to popularity

This was booked before we arrived to Middleton Carr Lane caravan site. There was a warm welcome and a funny bit of banter. The place was warm and friendly locals. We were served a lovely Sunday meal which was plentiful and tasty. Andy was a great host and we even had the cook come and chat to us. Well worth a visit.

When we holiday in Pickering, we always have dinner at least 2 or 3 times here during the week. There's always a warm, friendly welcome, the food is varied, plentiful and beautifully cooked...and fantastic value. We would recommend The Middleton Arms to anyone!

Lovely Sunday lunch, called in on the off chance for a drink on a dog walk and ended up having Sunday lunch. The food was lovely, well cooked and a choice of 4 meats including lamb and beef, washed down with a couple of pints of Farmers Blonde. The dogs were fussed over by the staff and received treats, a drink and a doggy bag for their tea
