Food was nice. The price for a small bottle of juice is overpriced. For what you're paying I think the customer is doing a lot of the work. The one way system to go in and out is ridiculous.

Bought a sausage roll in the bakery shop to take home. When I cut into it there was sausage meat in both ends but none in the centre 50% or so.What a rip off.

I was disappointed with the food, lumpy cold mash potato, pastry not cooked enough, 2 cold jacket potatoes , it seems like it's going down Hill, not sure if it's new owners or a different chef.On the plus side , the staff were very polite and friendly and the place was very clean and well presented.

I have visited this cafe/restaurant with a friend on several occasions during the last few years and can highly recommend it. It can get busy during the summer months but they can usually squeeze us in. The food is not fancy, but always good and reasonably priced.

The setting of the quaint village of Thornton le Dale, suits this cafe really well. Baldersons is very reminiscent of the cafés of the past, with a cosy feel and good food offerings. Could do with updating their menu to accommodate dietary restrictions.Dietary restrictions: LimitedWheelchair accessibility: Squeezed

Stayed in the village for a week, but only visited here once. Had a lovely lunch, but they would have had more of our business if it wasn't for a silly 'No Substitution' rule for breakfast. The Cedarbarn cafe (1 mile up the road) happily offered substitution so got all our breakfast trade.

Popped in today for lunch. A huge bowl of hot homemade soup with crusty bread was just the job for a cold day. Comfy seats, friendly staff . Highly recommend

Stopped at the village on the way home for breakfast and decided on here for best option.Got a table easy and the breakfast came out quickly. There was a side dish of toast off the side of the picture of really good brown bread and soft butter, which everyone knows is how butter should be served.Found the breakfast tasty and good value ?

Nothing special at all. Not what I expected or anticipated from the outside. More akin to the cafes in supermarkets or motorway services than in a village. Food and drinks okay, but nothing more. No character and little atmosphere. I didn't appreciate being forced through the gift shop in order to exit, either. Odd.

Nice cafe in lovely location. Food was very good and reasonably priced but the welcome is not there. Staff a little prickly and you have to stand at a rope to be let into the cafe!

I have never felt such an overwhelming desire to leave a negative review which I normally wouldn’t do. I visited with my elderly mum and 5 year old daughter. We ordered three meals and three drinks. My daughter drank her fresh orange very quickly and then had no drink. She has Cystic Fibrosis and has to take tablets with food, so I asked for a glass of tap water and explained that it was to take tablets she required. I was told that there was bottled water at £1.95 I could buy, I said she only needs a sip to take her tablets, but was directed towards the fridge to bottled water. Having been disgusted I went and sat down, having no alternative I went and bought a drink, of which my daughter drank hardly any, when buying I said I was disgusted as my daughter has CF and I required a drink for tablets. Again I was directed to the fridge to bottled water. Having gone in this cafe for years the sheer greed of the owners makes me certain I will never go in again. I hope customers read this and custom is lost. I work in a professional job and there is such a term as discretion, I would suggest you learn to apply it in future.

Some years ago this was my go to place for a really good sausage sandwich. I’ve had two there recently and they e both been disappointing. Tough, sliced leftovers… I won’t be going back.

Staff were friendly and competent but the food, a full English, was pretty average. The coffee was undrinkable machine made dishwater. My nespresso does better and that’s only 60p per cup. It’s a Witherspoons experience at twice the price. Thankfully the coffee was not on a free refill basis so you didn’t feel tempted.

Took my elderly parents for lunch, went to order 3 mains and asked for 3 glasses of tap water. Was told by cashier we had to buy bottled water, on questioning this the owner/manager intervened and I was informed the same, had to buy bottled water. I asked cashier how much my order came to....£35. I questioned manager, was she prepared to forsake my order of £35 (+ 3 sweets following main) for the sake of 3 glasses of tap water? ...to be told yes!! I can only describe our experience of a cafe I have visited many times before as awful and the owner/manager was obnoxious, arrogant, rude and lacked any sort of people management skills. I shall not frequent the cafe again and will not recommend......I hope in deepest, darkest winter when customers are harder to come by the cafe owner/manager realises £35 maybe worth more than her attitude!!!!

This is a lovely coffee shop. We sat outside in very pleasant surroundings. The coffee and cakes were delicious.
