“Cacau was recommended to us while we visited Redcar. We had a warm welcome, authentic Brazilian food, reasonably priced, good choice for vegans. I had the lentil soup which was delicious. The coffee was decaf and they made it not too strong which was perfect. My husband had a pot of tea, a loose leaf tea with strainer, very good value for money. We would definitely recommend this cafe.”

“Finally went to visit Mike’s Cafe after reading and hearing so many good reviews about it! Mike and all staff we encountered were so friendly and Mike always makes you feel welcome, such a great guy! The food was amazing and we’ll definitely be back. Not from Redcar but the travel was definitely worth it!”

“This place is open from around 3.30am onwards, the ladies are very nice and very quick, quicker than McD and much much better value, you get the correct amount for your money as well. They look smart in there blue blouses and always have a welcoming smile and Hello. Parking is easy and I driver a little HGV tanker for CSG as well. I'd like to ask people to try and pay by cash, I think it's critical to keep cash going into small businesses like these, they should have a "Cash preferred " sign, also a tips box for the girls. Thank you for looking after me and my smelly little lorry.
Parking: It's a wide open lay-by, even class 1s can park there.
Wheelchair accessibility: There are no obstacles for wheelchair users.”
“Lovely panini served with salad. Pizza meal deal was great too. They will put as much or as little garlic sauce on as you want which is fab!”
“Really great place to buy an ice cream or a drink. They sell the Redcar lemon top and you get good value for your money. Although their prices are a bit higher now, it costs £3 for a 99 now, you get a nice big cone and ice cream. The staff are really friendly, the atmosphere is great and I would highly recommend this place.”

“Just been in and had nice relaxing cuppa. In a nice clean and friendly environment. There was also the added bonus of no moronic idiots creating a fuss or been rude and abusive towards the staff. If you don’t like the place simply don’t go there. Plenty of other places you can spend your money in.”

“Absolutely excellent breakfast and coffee. Very busy but effective service. Both of us are vegetarian and loved the mushroom and halloumi dish. Would recommend booking if going at a weekend maybe, although we snuck in without.”
