Been attending this Ask Restaurant every New Years since I was a wee bairn. Always been amazing food and atmosphere but the past two years we have had the same server, Kasia, who has always gone above and beyond. Remembered us from last year too and is able to have a laugh with us whilst also providing excellent service.

Stopped in on a blustery winters day after a walk on the beach. Sat us straight down made us feel really at home . The lady who served us was brilliant. Very good service. Think she was the manager not sure. The food was actually really good, very tasty. Well made, well presented, and the wine delicious too! Really what we needed on a cold wet day. Great service tasty food and fairly priced. Not an exclusive 5 star restaurant but doesn’t claim to be, good service hot tasty food . Great job .

We come here whenever in Scarborough because its so consistent always good quality always friendly service the calamari never fails to impress as do all the starters and all pasta dishes I have tried have been very enjoyable nice if you can get a table upstairs with great views of the harbour it doesn't feel like a chain

My wife and I recently enjoyed an absolutely delightful meal together. The ambiance of the restaurant set the perfect tone for our evening—a cozy, intimate setting that made us feel at ease. The dishes we ordered were phenomenal. The Carbonara was a creamy masterpiece, perfectly balanced with crispy pancetta and just the right amount of cheese. The Pizza Calabria was a burst of flavors, with its spicy salami adding a delightful kick to each bite. And the garlic bread—oh, it was simply divine! Overall, the experience was exceptional. The attentive service and the joy of sharing this delicious meal with my wife made it truly memorable. We'll definitely be returning for more culinary delights!

The place is in a great location but the upstairs setting area seemed be unavailable so a table at the window on the roadside November night ) is less than appealling. The staff are pleasant and helpful but in so many restaurants why do you always have to ask for the bill after the table has been cleared and you are just left sitting z waiting, and waiting and waiting and then eventually need to go to pay at the bar area, tedious. The food is okay I had a vegan pizza which probably was the worst pizza I think I've ever had , sounds great on the menu but it's so thin it's like a crisp baked bread rathe than soft and dough like. The vegan dessert looks like a childs portion it's ridiculous how small it is for the price. And the opt out of the blue light scheme another star/point lost. There are a handful of really good Italian restaurants in Scarborough I have no idea why anyone would choose this one above those! It is decorated nice for Christmas but the food isn't worth the money unfortunately. Need to try much harder.
OMG, everything was amazing! Not cheap but food was freshly cooked, quickly delivered. Service couldn't have been better. There was a group of 4 of us but we were able to pay individually. The trio of desserts was incredible.Parking: From October free parking along the sea front so a nice walk included.

It was click and collect and I had an email with a QR code saying “have a cocktail on us!” But when I asked for it I was told “sorry only for dine in”I have checked my email invite and it doesn’t say that. Any decent staff would have just said OK

First off, the service was extremely good - polite, attentive and friendly. Everything else was average. With a capital A. Basic pizza, with very few options, a salad that would take 20 seconds to put together, and cost pennies, very average red wine (even though we chose the most expensive on the menu) and desserts so standard, I was at risk of yawning. Eating out isn't cheap nowadays so, when I go, I don't think it's unreasonable to want something that's better than I could cook at home. Tonight wasn't one of those nights. A final mention for our waitress who was excellent. Otherwise, VERY average.
