“Had takeaway fish & chips from here in the Summer overlooking the canal basin and they were excellent. Called in again this evening to see if they were consistently good. The batter on the fish was a little soggy but the freshness and quality of the cod was second to none. Every bit as good as the best in Whitby, Scarborough and Filey.”

“Despite the dire reviews we found online, we ventured (on a very wet Sunday evening) to this Pizza Express because it was the nearest to where we were staying. Both the manager and other staff were delightful and couldn’t have been more helpful. This Pizza Express is very well decorated and in very good condition (several we know are not!). The impressive and quick (not hurried) service was very good. Absolute TOP marks for service the pizzas on HOT plates! This is as it should be, but doesn’t happen very often. Generous portions and toppings. We really were delighted. The current staff have completely turned it around. Well done. Highly recommended.”
