We booked for New Year’s Eve with family for food and entertainment. We arrived for 7.45 as the meal was booked for 8. We was sat down at 8.20 and was told we had 10 mins to order food. My auntie said we have been waiting for you to seat us 35 mins. Some of us chose are meal didn’t have it. So we felt to rushed and chose something else. Me and my daughter chose chicken skewers. Well it came more like chargrill chicken with barbecue sauce. Some was over cooked and some under cooked liked it had been frozen and put in microwave. When I asked are these suppose to be chicken skewers was told yes. So would not chose as a New Year’s Eve meal very disappointed . The singer that night was great. Was very busy near the bar like 5 deep. Did think it would be ticket only. But seemed like a place to pack as many people in as possible.

Came here with our walking group as part of our New Year's weekend away. Really enjoyable food, service and entertainment, highly recommended

Last minute decision for a Birthday tea as our Hotel cancelled food that evening and we needed somewhere dog friendly to eat and we were certainly not disappointed. We had the calamari rings and whitebait as a starter and can honestly say they were best we have had then followed by the morney which again was delicious and perfectly cooked . I managed to squeeze in the sticky toffee pudding which was a very good size and very satisfying. The staff were very friendly and efficient, I would definitely recommend the Abbey wharf !!!

13 of us dined here last week, with our 2 dogs, who were made very welcome. We’d pre booked our table and were upstairs on the mezzanine. Our waiter was really helpful and very patient. The meals were amazing, piping hot and delicious. I had the mussels which were cooked to perfection. My partner thought the halibut to be the best he’d ever tasted. We all ordered different meals and nobody complained about the quality. Great value too. We’ll definitely return.

A really busy New Years Day. Beer was good. I had the fish pie - advertised as having chunks of fish and prawns in it. It came with just a side salad. The pie was pretty terrible. There were no chunks of fish, just a few flakes and 4 prawns. It was more like a bowl of fish flavoured mashed potato…for £18! My wife had a chicken sandwich which she said was quite tasteless with a grey colour to the chicken. She left it. The goats cheese side we ordered to share was alright. Ultimately we had a beer each, lunch and one side, it was pretty cr*p and cost us £55. The staff were pretty polite especially considering how busy it was but one lad in particular was shuffling around waiting on tables with his food stained shirt half hanging out and just looked mucky. This place used to be pretty good for food for what it is. Prices have crept up (of course, it’s the same everywhere) but the quality has plummeted. It’s still a good place for a few beers but avoid the grub.

Great bar for drinks go in often first time we have ordered food and sadly will be the last meals totally underwhelming and over priced. Cod and chips soggy batter and chips, pinwheel sausage and chips £16.95 was like a kids meal. Fish pie needed veg or something to fill it out and chicken skewers turned out to be chicken chunks on a plate. Shall stick to drinks only in future.

Potentially this is an excellent place. The location on the slope above the edge of the harbour, panoramic windows and a terrace, all hold promise. The craft IPA is also a fine pint. Staff are friendly and courteous. However at lunchtime it was like being in a pet shop with dogs everywhere, some quiet others barking. A party of loud, swearing youths at the bar didn’t help. The acoustics just added to the noise levels. The cod and chips was overpriced (£18.95) and underwhelming, and although the batter was crisp the cod was soft and obviously frozen, the chips were soggy. If you are a young, wealthy dog-lover with low gastronomic expectations, then this is the place for you.

We walked in, they was no acknowledgement from three members of staff - rude! When me and my partner sat down, I approached two members of staff and asked where to order food from, one older lady looked at me and walked away, second member of staff looked at me th en I had to ask again and was told go to the bar. Once at the bar, I was waiting to be served, I was next after two men, then the young lad walked away who was serving. Young lady comes by, serves a random guy who she saw walk up from behind me, so I waited paitently then the member of staff calls up people from the bottom of the bar for her to serve them too. I know I'm only 5'3 tall but come on! This is one way you are definitely going to lose your customers. After speaking to my partner we left! Will never return to this establishment again. Your staff need retraining! We then went to ( QUAYSIDE ) service was brilliant, greeted and seated from the door and food was served with a smile and was prompt with bringing the food out. Definitely recommend Totally would recommend to NOT! go to Abbey wharf

It's a nice place but lacks atmosphere which is a shame considering its prime location. Food is fine but the place is a bit "canteenish".

Excellent staff, amazing food, lovely location. Dog friendly, the staff made a fuss of our dogs, they even remembered us from our last visit. The fish and chips to take away are the best!

No been to the Abbey Wharf for a few years now, great place to sit outside overlook the harbour. Good selection of drinks and plenty of staff to serve them. An enjoyable visit.

Heating had broke but no staff could mention it !! Food went cold so quickly !! Brought all food together, when I questioned and said that the whitebait was a starter was told we don’t do starters ……maybe the person taking my money could have mentioned that, whilst she was over filling my coffee and chocolate for me to carry to the table ?? All that staff and I’m the one serving myself !!! While we were leaving another couple was disputing the same issue of starters ?? Lazy customer service lazy catering. Leaving view was smoking staff on entrance lovely !!!

Really nice place. Large well furnished interior. Good staff. Nice varied menu. Even on a Wednesday in November it was busy so may be wise to book or just chance it. Food well prepared and the portions are more than adequate. Reasonable prices too. I’d recommend a visit.

The staff are absolutely fantastic, we ordered a light bite fish cake by accident, we wanted the main. The lady who sorted this out for us couldn’t have done enough for us, our bar server had great banter with the kids and the glass collector was very friendly. Such a refreshing change to meet staff who want to help and nothing was too much for them. Thanks so much, will be back. ☺️

Called for dinner one night while staying in Whitby. This place is massive once you get in and I have no doubt that on summer days it could be carnage but for us it was fine. The staff were friendly curtious and attentive. The food was of a good standard and the drinks were reasonably priced. The facilities were clean and well kept
