Cafes in Whitby

“Absolutely scrumptious breakfast. Lovely service and excellent prices. The best bowl of Porridge in England, perhaps on the planet? Loved Ditto and all of Whitby, we'll be back for sure!”

“I've just eaten the best wrap EVER!!!!!! It was a falafel wrap with mango chutney, coronation chickpeas and mint yoghurt with a sweet chilli dip....delicious.Everything was fresh and so tasty and the wrap was packed full. You simply must try this. I also tried, for the first time, a pistachio and marzipan tea and this too was superb, if you like pistachios and marzipan as much as me. My friend's had the bacon and brie on toast and the smashed avocado on toast and both loved them. The service was great and the interior of the cafe was like a old fashioned eclectic teashop with miss-matched teacups etc. A great place.Vegetarian options: I strongly recommend the falafel wrap.”

“My wife and I stopped here for a coffee on a cold winters evening. Great place, great coffee, great service and friendly staff. I also had a cake, which was absolutely delicious. I'll be returning just for that!! ?The one thing I liked the most was the chilled out atmosphere, and for me as a non drinker finding somewhere that serves coffee at 8pm is like finding a gold mine.PERFECT!! ???????”

“Very, very good. Snug and cosy, dog friendly café. Friendly and welcoming service. Nota bene: hot food stops being served at 2pm. Incredible range of teas available. Very reasonably priced menu with good choices for vegetarians and vegans. I had the spiced coconut, chickpea and lentil soup which was also gluten free. It was a good portion and very thick and tasty. Lovely clean and nice smelling loo. Really liked it here at Beckett's and shall definitely revisit again. Recommended.”

“Called here as a halfway point on the Cleveland Way Coastal Walk. On the cliff top there is a sign saying cafe. From the coastal path you walk up a very steep hill, through a very steep campsite and eventually you are there. I consider myself quite fit but even I was out of puff! But the cafe was clean, the staff welcoming with a nice menu to choose from.We had a ham and cheese sandwich which I forgot to take a photo off. But I must say it was probably one of the best sandwiches we’ve had.”

“Felt that the owners had thrown their staff under the Goth bus. They were lovely but unable to keep up table cleaning and orders. Breakfast menu was extended by an hour without telling customers so we ended up sharing a gorgeous cinnamon bun after queueing for 20 odd minutes only to be told we could still order breakfast....”
