Called here as a halfway point on the Cleveland Way Coastal Walk. On the cliff top there is a sign saying cafe. From the coastal path you walk up a very steep hill, through a very steep campsite and eventually you are there. I consider myself quite fit but even I was out of puff! But the cafe was clean, the staff welcoming with a nice menu to choose from.We had a ham and cheese sandwich which I forgot to take a photo off. But I must say it was probably one of the best sandwiches we’ve had.

We were staying on site and had breakfast one morning and some drinks in the afternoon. The stotties were very big and really nice, as were the cakes. Thanks!

Visited Coast during the half term holiday with my wife, grandkids and our daughter ( their Auntie). We had coffee and cake, and then played Crazy Golf on the nearby camp site facility. All in all a very pleasant afternoon . Coast is “ off the beaten track” but seek it out and you won’t be disappointed.

My friend and I were walking the Coast to Coast walk from S Bees to Robin Hoods Bay from charity. At a distance of 192 miles, it's no easy task. On our last day, June 4th, with approx 3 mies left and having found no where to get a bite to eat from breakfast, we stopped into the Coast Cafe to get something as we were starving. We arrived at 2.50pm and my friend asked for a cheese and bacon burger, he was met with the reply, sorry, the kitchen closes at 3.30 pm and we aren't serving food!!! We asked if we could have coffee, and thankfully, the answer was yes!! I saw 2 sausage rolls sitting and asked for them. The girl serving, who clearly had no interest and didn't want to be bothered, reached them across stone cold!° I asked if they could be heated?? I got a curt "i suppose so" and she stuck them in for 30 seconds, I tied it until it dinged!! They were bearly warmed, to be honest. At this stage we gave up, we were tired, having spent the last 13 days walking. The young girl needs a lesson in customer service big style!!! Sorry for the rant, but it certainly didn't leave a good impression!!!

Since Mad Mary's stopped serving in Sandend, we thought we had lost our favourite place to go for a burger in Whitby. But thankfully Coast Cafe Bar under their new management are now producing the best chicken/beef burgers in Whitby (in our opinion), they are absolutely delicious! Myself & my wife tried the chicken sriracha burger & the bacon cheeseburger both were excellent quality & flavour. The cafe is beautifully decorated inside & the service was great too. Highly recommended. Well done guys!

Have been coming here for a couple of years. This place is lovely. I highly recommend, they had no issues with a large table, dog and child friendly, lovely staff and amazing food. Will be back in the future!

Previous owners were brilliant and food and service fab. Went today in excited fashion for breakfast ready for opening at 0930 as shown at end of road and online. Rang at 0945 to see if all was OK for opening today after waiting outside. Got very short "we will change sign" response. Went in and was blanked by girl at bar. I asked if I could sit anywhere - I was the only one in - found a seat and was then ignored for 10 minutes whilst preparations continued - she was clearly waiting for me to come over so she could point at a small sign saying "order here" - there was no eye contact / smile / humility / attempt to engage. All that was needed was a smile and her pointing out what was needed. I decided to leave as if this is the front of office god know what the rest is like...a real shame. A real disappointment. Having said that the Penny Hedge was 5 minutes away and superb friendly welcome with a top breakfast.

We ventured to the Coast Cafe for Mothers Day. We were met with a warm welcome and also a glass of Prosecco for the mums (nice touch). The food was amazing, I had the beef and it was cooked perfectly and the Cauliflower Cheese was out of this world. My little boy wasn’t feeling himself that day so I had no problems finishing his too. We can’t wait to go back again,
