Sunday lunch is excellent, but book ahead. Loved the sticky toffee pudding and custard, plenty of everything sponge toffee sauce and custard. Very friendly staff and locals if I lived nearby it would by my local.

Went for Sunday lunch, staff we're lovely and attentive. Toilets were a struggle to get into so could do with updating. Had a lovely view of the river and train line. Seating was a bit basic but OK. The food was nice but we thought there wasn't enough veg and a tade expensive for the amount. Parking is a nightmare but we were lucky and got in on the side street. On the whole we would visit again.

Great food (ate here twice on a long weekend visit), nice beers, and brilliant staff who go out of their way to make you feel welcome and well looked after. Proper pub. Small cosy bar, and a couple of other rooms to eat in, plus a riverside/trackside patio. Even sorted a pot of milk for us to take back to our poorly-supplied cottage so we could make tea! Lovely place, thanks.

Monday night and a warm welcome to this delightful inn. Food is excellent and bring your best appetite as the portions do not disappoint. Good drinks range and very warm and friendly staff. Thanks for a lovely evening meal.

Lovely, cosy pub with friendly staff and punters.Vegetarian options: Could do with a bit more choice.Dietary restrictions: Were very understanding and attentive regarding peanut allergy.Kid-friendliness: My daughter tells me they have the best range of soft drinks!

Such a warm and friendly welcome from the staff and the locals. The food is AMAZING, accidental drop in for lunch had us return for breakfast the next day, evening meal the following day and a breakfast to send us on our way home our last day. Seriously! If you fancy a drive out, it really is worth it.... Dog friendly, too..

We booked for a Sunday Roast after finding positive reviews online. However, our experience was less than impressive with what was certain to be frozen/instant mash, runny gravy, and unseasoned veg. At £17.95 for a lamb roast I would expect far better. Very disappointing.

Went to the Bridge for a family meal at Christmas. The staff were lovely and welcoming, and all the food was fabulous and great value. Some of our party were held up and the team couldn’t have been more understanding, despite them being very busy. A thoroughly enjoyable experience! Thanks so much!

Booked a New Year’s Eve Sunday Lunch, staff were very welcoming, great home cooked food and very good value for money. Will definitely go back when we are in Whitby and a nice walk back to Whitby along the side of the railway line.

Great unspoilt proper pub with cask ales and tasty food. Had a meal and we can recommend the gammon and the scampi. Both were delicious and generous portions. Stayed to join in the pub quiz and were made to feel welcome so returned the following evening for more drinks. Plenty of support from locals and again a warm welcome. There’s a nice riverside railway walk to Whitby from opposite the pub.
