We went for our 1st anniversary after a night out in York. The food is excellent, as good if not better than anywhere we've tried. The staff are extremely friendly and the service is quick. I expected the bill to be far more than it actually was. Highly recommend this Indian restaurant.

A lovely ambience in this restaurant which had excellent service, very attentive staff and tasty food. We ate the lamb balti and lamb biryani along with some popadoms which were all delicious. Was a nice touch to be offered a free drink on the house as we were finishing up. Good value for money with our tastecard too.

Was a walk-in, greeted at the door. Given a table near the front, was quite busy. Despite walking in an hour before closing, we were sorted for the meal. Many thanks.

We thoroughly enjoyed our evening meal at Bombay Spice. Despite the restaurant being incredibly busy with it being Christmas, the staff worked hard to accommodate us without a booking. The staff were friendly and efficient and made us feel welcome during our meal. The peshwari naan bread was out of this world! The atmosphere was good in the restaurant and it wasn’t too loud despite it being busy. The staff kindly offered us a free alcoholic drink at the end of our meal but we were that full from the meal and tired from walking around York all day that we ended up declining - we regret saying no now! I would definitely visit Bombay Spice again.

First they offered popadoms with pickles which is okay. We ordered biriyani which doesn’t taste like Indian biriyani and staff was rude, at the end they offered complimentary drinks and one guy tried to kiss which was quite weird. Ambiance was cosy and a bit smelly too.
Food was not authentic indian, they dont maintain any hygiene and quality of food is bad. When I spoke to the staff they are not from india

Popped in to see if we could get a table for 4 people, realised it was a Friday evening so busy. Staff really helpful asked us to come back in half hour. They had a table for us and the food was amazing, service was great.
