Beautiful setting and amazing pizza. Staff were friendly but clearly too busy. We didn't get a drinks order in so gave up in the end, drank water and went elsewhere afterwards.
Five of our party of seven were nearly an hour late as the centre of York was gridlocked. However, Pizza Express kept our table open for us. Even though they were really busy as it was the lead up to Christmas.The food was good and the guy who served us very pleasant, informative and very efficient.The only reason it didn't get 5* for atmosphere is because we were in the entrance room with only a few tables and not on the main room. Booked a table today for a family meal (three adults and 5 children) prior to heading to the Pantomime.Amazing service as soon as we walked in. Great food and good value for money.Nothing was too much trouble for our waiter, Liam. Including making my nieces birthday special with a candle and a song with her dessert.Thank you, we will be back.
