Excellent ?

Pea risotto was inedible mush, and the chicken was anaemic. I complained to the waitress who said she understood after looking at it and would pass on the feedback to the chef. Charged the full amount for it as well. Won’t be back

The only positive thing I can say is that the food was adequate. There was an indistinguisable smell in the room that wasn't exactly pleasant. The standard of cleanliness was okay but found quite a few things that they could have improved on. It's a lovely location but there are plenty of other B&Bs to choose from for an undoubtedly better experience. I'd rate it a generous 2 out of 5.

The food here is fantastic. The chef is an authentic trained Michelin professional. I know friends that travel a fair way to eat here. I have looked at a couple of reviews here, and I don't know what they are talking about. The chef must have been on holiday

We visited The King’s Head after hearing it had changed hands recently. Still a pleasant atmosphere with friendly staff and good food, albeit not quite as good as before. The only reason for 4 star not 5 is because we didn’t feel the waiting staff were as attentive as they could have been. We had to ask to place a drinks order, both times during our visit, despite sitting right next to the bar. It was a bit frustrating to sit with empty glasses whilst staff leant on the bar talking. Other than that, everyone was kind, polite and friendly. Facilities were clean and well kept.

Just about the best pub in the area, the new manager and his team are doing a great job, excellent food, top service levels and all reasonably priced!

Lovely food if a bit on the expensive side, with good service in pleasant surroundings. The menu was pretty ambitious by local standards! Very tasty desserts which were the highlight for me. It was a bit on the quiet side so could have had a more bustling atmosphere, maybe we were unlucky with our timing.

Have not had such a good dining experience since a Michelin star in Oban. Exquisite menu, chef showing some real talent. I’m not normally a fish man but the lemon sole was to die for. I’ve seen many cheese boards and the cheese was good but the biscuits were a wow - really unusual I know but please try it. Have no hesitation in recommending this with a decent wine list what’s not to love. Food of this quality is worthy of support.

We hadn't eaten at the Kings Head for a while and thought it was time for another visit and we weren't disappointed. We both had the Cod with Panko king prawn which was cooked perfectly and was delicious. We shall not leave it so long before we visit again

You will not find a better place for food quality. Every time I eat here, I feel as though the food gets better and better - which at this point seems impossible but last night I was proved wrong yet again. Lovely service too with such friendly staff. You genuinely could not find a better place to eat! I’ve been for both my birthday dinners in the past year; it’s just fab!!

We called in for Sunday lunch and the food was excellent. Plenty of tender lamb rump slices with beautifully cooked vegetables and nice friendly service too.

A brasserie pitched and priced as Fine dinning. Elegant food, presented immaculately, but the restaurant was missing some fine dining details.Myself and three others dined a fortnight ago. I had steak, because for the price point this is the only reasonably priced item on the menu. £35 for a ‘pub’ main course is the top end for Northamptonshire. The food was served promptly, albeit by different servers, the waitresses were very polite and had answers to our questions.I had the Tikka masala scallops, which i found to be a curious combination, knowing scallops are a mild flavour they were i felt overpowered by tikka masala, but overall the dish was interesting to eat.The steak was perfectly cooked, but did come with a ‘parcel’ of vegetables (wrapped in a cabbage or similar leaf), that all appeared to have been fried and a sauce added, this was i felt an unusual way to serve vegetables with steak, an oriental style, as opposed to traditional chargrilled.I felt the restaurant lacked some aspects i would come to expect from similar at that level. The cutlery provided was the cheapest commercial cutlery, thin, lacking substance, the steak knives were cheap and basic, and the napkin was a basic cheap paper one, no plate chargers, no table dressing, cheap paper menus. The chair and table height was odd, with the table being low. These are below the standards this restaurant pitches itself at.Furthermore we could hear the kitchen radio from the table, and a dispute the servers had with the kitchen.I probably would not go again, for this price point, customer experience is unfortunately lacking.

Been here a couple of times now. Food is fantastic , not the cheapest but certainly worth it. Always beautifully presented and delicious. Staff are friendly and helpful.
