We visit this branch of Wetherspoons weekly and have never had any real issues, today however we were shocked by what we experienced. The veggie breakfast we ordered was delivered to an neighbouring table, we had a suspicion it may have been ours but as the customer seemed to accept it we thought they may have just ordered the same thing. After watching them start eating it they quickly realized as they bit into the sausage that this was a veggie breakfast and not what they had ordered. Eventually they called over the server who took the food away, about a minute later the server brought over our food. When we challenged the server they admitted that it was the same plate but had replaced what had been eaten (I mean really?). We said we wanted a fresh breakfast, after about 5 minutes out comes the breakfast again and it is clearly the same plate of food including the half chopped mushroom and egg that had clearly been chopped up, everything was stone cold apart from one of the veggie sausages which was red hot. Also the lurpak butter sachets were missing which are usually on top of the toast, we could see these on our neighbours table still. As we are not people who like confrontation we decided not to say anything and anyway we could not prove anything. We promptly left and needless to say we will not be frequenting this establishment again

We came here as we were staying in the dog friendly hotel next door, we understood when they said dogs weren't allowed in the actual pub but was a bit perplexed when they said no dogs in the back garden. So we went outside and got settled, our dog was laid down next to us and we were ordering on the app when someone came over and said dogs also aren't allowed on the front outside the pub... I've never been in a pub where dogs aren't even allowed outside, it's madness! If you have a dog go across the road to the chequered Inn and give them your money.

Today I went to the Samuel Lloyds to have some food and drinks with friends. I have to say the staff were under immense pressure due to staff illness and no shows. However the 4 people who were working did not collapse under the pressure of what was going on. It was bank holiday and they possibly didn't estimate the amount of footfall they would experience. Hats off to Emma and Spencer who done an outstanding job of holding the bar together not only serving customers but also doing online orders while the two younger staff held their own dealing with food orders. Sadly not everyone was as patient and were extremely rude to the staff. It would be nice to know that the 4 staff who did deal with everything today are acknowledge for their professionalism throughout. Well done from a very grateful customer

Ordered a meal at 1-15 and proceeded to watch the monitor with the times of serving. I was asked at 1-45 if I had ordered food, when I replied yes the"person" ran off towards the bar. For some unknown reason he came back and said that they were having a problem in the kitchen and were just starting to cook mine !!When I asked for a refund he proceeded to disappear, upon his return he asked me if I still wanted my order. I replied that I would like a refund, whereupon he disappeared again !!!.At 1-55 I was informed that my meal was ready, but yet again he disappeared.Upon reappearing he proceeded to serve 3-4 more tables before I eventually got mine just after 2 pm !!!The only excuse I was offered was that the kitchen was busy.I would hate to think what would happen when they are busy ???

Cheap and cheerful as expected - curries were great for the price including a beer. Could have done with some COVID related instructions on the table - QR code to download or something - we hadn't been in for quite some time so weren't sure how it worked at first

Nice pub, good choices of ales, bit out the way, not sure about the decoration of the place, as it has a warehouse feel to it. It's a spoons and you know what you get. Plenty of parking8/10.

Dont mind having to wait for breakfast, but when it arrives and its luke warm with some of it cold, yes i should of sent it back but was too hungry after waiting the best part of an hour for it. Alot of tables were full of plates looked very under staffed.

Decent food at reasonable prices. Unfortunately unable to use the App on this occasion. Staff were friendly and helpful.

The drinks as usual very good for the value, food are absolutely disgusting and unhealthy over cooked or very cold & not enough staff have to wait long time before getting served

I went here for a wake after a family funeral. Everywhere was clean , staff were wearing masks. I only had a soft drink but food I saw being brought out looked good and I didn't witness any complaints. Tea and coffee seems to be on a free refill.

We went here for the Burns' Supper week. They offered haggis, neeps and taties (turnip and mash potatoes) and a calidonia burger (haggis and a beef burger in a bun with chips and onion rings).I wanted the burger, but they had no beef burgers so could not get any type of burger. I ended up having the traditional Burns supper. I have to say it was excellent, the mash was probably one of the best I have had. The neeps were ok and the haggis was very tasty. If I didn't want haggis though then there was very little choice, a lot of the menu was sold out, which for a pub that serves food is inexcusable really.4 stars for my meal, 3 stars for everything .
