Went to get supper close to closing time for 8 people. Chips were passable so was piece of fish but the battered sausages ended up as just plain sausages although we paid for battered and the chicken fillets were totally inedible they were dry overcooked and basically not fit for a dog. Would not recommend going there.

sorry been going to this fish shop for many years and I must say tonight 19th Dec 2023 was the worst fish and chips I have had its a shame but will be looking else where

My wife is the fussiest person in the world, bar none, when it comes to chips. First visit tonight, we live miles away in ketterin'! ? The chips were perfect.

Unlike most in BL I have given the new owners the benefit of time to adjust and sort out some teething issues, always bound to happen when taking over a well run business, however I’m SADDENED to say that they have not learnt from their mistakes. The food received tonight was cold, as it had been prepared at different times and not kept warm, portion sizes have diminished, and the service is poor. It used to be such a friendly well oiled machine but it’s, in my opinion, a shadow of its former self. Poor show.

Having been a customer for some time now, (& usually have this as a treat for my Son on access visits) we have noted a slow but sure deterioration in the enjoyment of the food and now the awful way in which it is run by new owners. I am not suprised at this as Burton Latimer has really poor attitude towards customers and public alike in general. Tonight we asked for the usual food among a crowd who had already ordered everything that was not cooked (Typical locals) So having ordered and paid, we thought it simple that we got our food and could go - No ! We waited and waited as more and more orders were expidited from the huge list they had taken ahead of our arrival. Our food was there staring at us but wait and wait we had to. The staff seemed very disinterested and manifested itself in all areas of the machine they were destroying - a once great place. This was the very last visit here for us and we seek alternatives for future takeaways. Also way too busy to even apologise for such a wait for the food we could see in the hot area that we had paid for - SHAMEFUL PEOPLE !

This chippy used to be good but now have new owners and the quality is very poor. Won't be using the place again.
Every time I went in there, the owner was very rude ignorant, overpriced for small pieces of fish. I will not be going again.
