We ate here between Christmas & New Year. 2 of our party were coming from London & were delayed on the motorway so we were an hour behind the time we had booked, but this was no problem. We all enjoyed our meals and were well catered for by friendly host. I'm sure we will be back.

Great food, vary friendly staff, nice to have a dog friendly pub. Gluten free and vegan options are good with staff having good knowledge.

What a lovely pub! Went for lunch today with my husband, son in law and two dogs. This fabulous pub is very dog friendly and very coeliac friendly. The food was freshly cooked and was delicious. The staff was very knowledgable about my dietary needs and guided me through the menu on what was gluten free with ease . Rosie our waitress was so helpful. The food was reasonably priced and was served hot and presented beautifully. We had starters mains puddings and coffees. They even had doggy ice cream for our dogs and the staff Julian and Rosie gave them lots of treats.

Saw the pub on the way home and stopped in for a meal. Service was a little slow but the food was good. The garden also looks like it would be really nice on a sunny day.

Stayed one night and had dinner too - food was fine, service really good - good breakfast. Room although comfortable and surprisingly quiet for being near a main road was a bit tired, needs a bit of a spruce up.

We booked The Narrowboat for an 18th birthday family celebration. The whole evening went without a hitch - the staff and food were spot-on. The on-site accommodation was great for people who had to travel some way to join us.

Had a lovely night away. Rooms are basic but the food was good. The thing that made it so nice was the wonderful, friendly staff especially Jules!!Just a couple of suggestions...... serve fruit juice with breakfast and milk with the pots of tea.To be fair I think the girl who served us breakfast was new.Would return.

Enjoyed a lovely nights accommodation here with a warm welcome, friendly staff and good service. The rooms, separate from the inn, are adequate although a little tired and needing some TLC. We were surprised by hw quiet they are away from the main road.We had a fine evening meal from a good and varied menu and our breakfasts excellent!

Called in here for my birthday lunch, it's very nice and the food was really lovely. We both had steak and it was lovely as were the prawn skewers for starters. It's definitely worth a visit especially at lunchtime when it's quiet.Food & drinks: Steak was lovely as were the prawn skewers for starters.

The rooms are very basic but the food was good. The best thing about the place is the staff (especially Jules). Couldn't do enough for us and they were all very friendly and efficient. Definitely the best asset of the pub. Loads of parking and quiet despite being on a busy road. Just two suggestions.... fruit juice with breakfast would have been nice and the girl serving us breakfast forgot to bring us milk with the pots of tea but I thnk she was new.

We stayed here for a couple of nights. The room is tired and needs a good refurb but I understand that is happening soon. The room is a chalet style room away from the main building which I hadn’t realised - I would have preferred a main building room but hey ho! The room was comfortable and basic but had everything in it that was needed. The shower was hot with excellent water pressure and the bed was comfortable. There was a kettle and plenty of coffee/tea and biscuits. For the price it was never going to be the Ritz but suited our needs for the time we were there. The breakfast was good. We opted for the Narrow Boat breakfast which was enormous. The staff were really friendly and welcoming so overall we had a good experience

Hadn't been here in a number of years and can only assume its changed hands. The food was very poor on the whole small thin tail cut of frozen cod for fish and chips, very low quality of bought in chips and the worst attempt at brownie and ice cream I have ever had. Had everything been 25% cheaper I could excuse it as an it is what it is cheap pub. But despite its lovely setting I wouldn't go back everything seems the cheapest they can buy but still charged at a mid ranged pub price.

This pub/restaurant was picked using a 'halfway between' website as we were meeting friends from Lichfield. Their website looked good and so we booked. The tables were sticky, presumably as a result of too much sanitiser. The menu was not extensive but adequate for all tastes but the food was not presented well and one order of lamb burger looked pathetic. My fish was overdone but as we had had a fair wait for service we persevered. Desserts were ok, but I question the brain of the chef/server in serving my ice cream dessert on a red hot plate. We are not food snobs - we ask only good food at reasonable price - The prices here are expensive for what we were served.

I visited with my partners family on Sunday 3rd September. I ordered the Prawn and Salmon salad and requested avocado instead of asparagus. Initially the kitchen sent out the wrong dish, the avocado and mango salad. At that point after seeing the salad maybe I should have cancelled my order for salad as all I could see was a plateful of chopped leaves. When the requested salad arrived it was hard to find any salmon and certainly no prawns. The salmon when found, probably amounted to 1 slice and what there was was stringy and poor quality. The 'prawns' were what I would describe as shrimp and amounted to roughly 8 in total which would have equated to almost a normal sized prawn. The chopped leaf contained some browning pieces and some rotting pieces. The wait staff were not at all concerned at the 'meal' I was presented with. Unfortunately because I didn't want to make a fuss I meekly accepted this, my fault I know, but basically I was robbed of £14 and left hungry. Please, please, please avoid this overpriced experience and dine elsewhere. I'm only sorry that I didn't take photos to back up my review.
