Had a lovely time here with friends for a celebration meal and drinks. We were a party of fourteen and we all enjoyed our afternoon. The hotel is set in stunning surroundings and our visit was on a beautiful sunny October day so we were able to take lots of photos in the garden. The dinning area was tastefully decorated, bright and clean. It looks out over the gardens with amazing views.Service was excellent as was the food. I would recommend the Stanwick Hotel as a great place for any occasion.

As a 78 year old woman, I booked a very comfortable room for 3 nights in September. On arrival I was given a room that was in the attic, accessed by a long flight of steep stairs without any offer of assistance. There was a wedding party at the same time and assume I was given the cheaper room in the attic without any communication from the hotel to assess if I was capable of climbing the stairs. Very bad service!

We decided to have our wedding in the dining room at The Stanwick Hotel in August 2023 and it was everything and more that we imagined. We are an older couple wanting a more intimate wedding with under 20 people for the wedding ceremony and breakfast followed by a few extra guests in the evening for drinks and nibbles. Marie was very helpful and accommodating, allowing us to plan our day our way but taking care of the finer details along the way. The whole house is beautiful and did not require too much decoration. We decided on some carefully placed flowers. We stayed overnight in the balcony room overlooking the courtyard garden. It was really pretty room. Light and airy with a big comfy bed. On the day and throughout the evening staff were always to hand ensuring things ran smoothly which meant could relax and not worry about a thing ! The hotel provided 2 bride and groom thrones for the ceremony and wedding breakfast which was a lovely touch. The Afternoon Tea was nicely presented and tasty. We also had many complements about the evening buffet spread. The Stanwick hotel ensured we had a very special wedding day that we will both never forget. I would like to send a BIG thank you to all the staff who helped on the day as well as Marie who put us at ease before the ceremony. I would recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a place to hold their wedding big or small. The hotel the grounds/gardens and rooms in the hotel are beautiful and the staff are especially accommodating.

We visited on a Friday for Steak Night, finding a great atmosphere which picked up further as the night went on. Our thanks to Phil and our waitress Anna (hope I got that right) who helped make a lovely experience. The fillet steak was cooked to perfection, exactly as we ordered it. Not a single fault to be found. We'll certainly be returning. Thanks team.

Went here for a work trip, and wow, what a lovely little hotel. The rooms are like your own little cottage the gardens are well maintained and clean.. not over priced and would highly recommend

The food was very good and the staff were excellent but the stay was unfortunately ruined by the people in the adjoining rooms being VERY inconsiderate, shouting and yelling and constantly moving something scraping it along the floor. The room was supposedly a "Deluxe" room but it was certainly not worth the premium price charged, there was a puddle on the floor of the ensuite from a leaking radiator which was a slip hazard, the main door lock did not work properly and the room was lit up by an overly bright indicator lamp on an emergency light. We eventually packed up and left at 1:30 in the morning having been unable to get any sleep. The owners need to improve the sound proofing between the rooms.

Great hotel, lovely a quiet, great location, friendly staff. The rooms are more like small chalet type rooms and are really clean with lots of space. The food and service was great ?.The only issue was with people staying above my room it was a little noisy but I put this down to the guests not having any matters ir thought for the other guests.Overall a lovely hotel, decent price, quiet location,, friendly staff and lovely food. THANKS ?

Just had our wedding here over the weekend and I can honestly say we had the best experience ever. We stayed the night before and with us 16 other guests where we had dinner in the restaurant. Food was amazing and service was great too. They had a lot to deal with and they managed it so well. Everyone left feeling full and satisfied. Thanks to Gemma the waitress who served us! We set up the evening before and the staff were so kind even when we were running around like headless chickens. They were calm and accommodating. The wedding day itself run so smoothly and Marie was so attentive double checking everything with our wedding schedule we had planned on our previous meetings. Sophie who coordinated in the afternoon was great too. There were a few tiny niggles and last minute changes that we needed but it was all amended discreetly. Again the food was amazing. The canapés, wedding breakfast and evening food. Everyone we spoke to enjoyed their dishes and the evening food was demolished! We were directed when needed to where we had to be and the room changes were swift. The grounds were incredibly well kept and beautiful and everyone who stayed said their rooms were lovely. Some were admittedly bigger than others but that cannot be helped. We were so lucky to have an outdoor ceremony and have the outdoor bar open. All the bar staff were so friendly (Mariam especially) and Philip is so lovely with his great outfit choices too! We would also like to the DJ and florist included in the package as they listened to everything we wanted and were the icing on the cake. DJ John and Rockabilly Rose. The only slight comment we would suggest is that emails are replied to quicker as we had to chase at times and it gave us a bit of anxiety. However we know that wedding season can be hectic and had no reflection on the day itself. If you are thinking of getting married here or even having an overnight stay or a meal please don’t hesitate to come to this quirky beautiful venue!

Visited Stanwick Hotel for a wedding, beautiful venue with a warm and friendly atmosphere. Everyone from the bar and waiter staff through to Marie the manager on the day were all friendly and happy to help at any moment. Amazing food and canapés and very well stocked and affordable bar. The rooms were very comfy and very reasonably priced. Will definitely visit and stay again.

We needed a nice restaurant to have a special birthday celebration dinner. I contacted the Stanwick Hotel and asked about arranging a set menu for our guests. Mandy was so helpful in arranging a specific menu to accommodate all my fussy relative’s requirements and kept it within our budget. The food was absolutely delicious. I couldn’t fault a single dish and all guests commented on how much they enjoyed theirs. The staff were friendly and incredibly helpful. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for a nice dinner and will be going back. My only very tiny negative would be that, as we were sat in the conservatory part of the restaurant and another group had a table, it can get very loud.

Small wedding booked over a year ago. Came the day my daughter her future husband, and myself and my wife went to set up flowers etc. When we arrived the kitchen, where we were told we could leave everything, was chock a block with furniture, rolled up carpet, room dividers etc. I went to try and find a member of management. I eventually found a member of the cleaning staff, who was very helpful. She went off and came back to say management would be on site at 11 o clock. I pointed out that it was 20 past eleven. We then moved all the kit out of the kitchen and set up the room ready for a wedding. At no time did we see a member of management, only cleaning staff.A vegan meal was ordered for all guests. It was disgusting. Starters were all cold. One of the main meals was a vegan roast which was absolutely tasteless, this included broccoli which was raw. The dessert rice pudding could only be described as wallpaper paste. It was just a bowl of cold stodge, totally unrecognisable as a rice pudding. The venue itself is picturesque, but sadly lacking in organisation and management skills. Food needs a lot to be desired. They accepted to provide a vegan menu but the chef obviously did not have the skills to fullfil the menu.Cleaning staff 5 stars, management zero. Definitely not recommended

Went for family celebration all meals had been pre-ordered but the broccoli was rock hard practically everyone who had broccoli left it as you couldn’t cut it. Very disappointing. A lovely venue but need to ensure food is eatable
