A lovely pub-restaurant off the beaten path. Climatic. The food is tasty. Nice staff. Efficient service.Rooms: It was very cold in the detached B&B. We waited a long time for the rooms to warm up. Quilts are very narrow - they may be enough for a child. Too narrow for an adult. Unless you like to sleep at attention ? but it was warm in the rooms above the restaurant.

What a stunning location. Basil Sheils is situated opposite a river out in the country. Lots of places to sit outside and inside with the choices of the restaurant, lounge/bar area. Basil Sheils is by far one of my favourite places I've been to dine. The food was spectacular and the service was fantastic. All staff were so friendly and were quick to serve you. I wasn't intending on having a big meal but ended up having 3 courses as ever course was delicious. We will definitely be back here.

My family have died here many a time over the years, myself and my partner was visiting my parents and they wanted to take us here, my mum is only a tiny eater, and we saw on website that children's menu was strictly under 12s, I myself work in a similar establishment in Galway, and have always worked hospitality, determined they wanted to come here, we called in, I spoke to a young girl and explained about mum, and would it be possible to get her a dinner from the children's, I was told no, now that was only one children's meal, and as we won't be together, you could say it was our Christmas meal together, there was also 3 more adults, so for not allowing mum to have this, they have missed out on 4 starters, 3 adults and 1 child main course, 4 desserts and drinks...... We have a children's menu at my work, but it's good business to accommodate at times, and with being over 30yrs in hospitality, this was a time to accommodate, so as nice as food is, what I've heard about it, never got the chance to try it, we did go elsewhere and mum was catered for, and we had a lovely time.
