Worst Christmas event I've ever been to. We visited on Sunday 17th. We arrived on time for our slot and found our way into the cafe where our hot drinks order was taken straight away, we then waited at for 40minutes to actually get them. The 'crafts' that were advertised turned out to be some photocopied colouring pages and felt tips thrown on a dirty table. We then waited for an hour and a half while other families ( at least 6 who arrived after us) were ushered back and forward to the s'mores cabin and Santa. We were treated like we didn't exist. Eventually a member of staff told us that we hadn't been forgotten about, apparently the reason we hadn't done anything yet was because one person had jumped the queue in front of us. Hardly a reason for us to have waited for an hour and a half. We were then taken to the s'mores cabin where the 'elf' mainly talked to the adults about working at the lakes and fishing. Santa and the grotto was actually ok once we eventually got there but by that time the Christmas magic was definitely gone.

Lovely staff, coping well after a kid's party. Loaded fries, chicken and sweet chilli sauce was tasty as was the Irish stew, unusually made with mince but worked well and no doubt ideal with kids. Nice walk and great views from the fishing ponds.Parking: Don't turn into the large pretentious house just before The Lakes. Use next entrance up the hill by the trees.

Really good value for a family meal in a delightful location. Lovely food, nice little playground for the kids and nicely decorated for the season.

Have been going to moorbrook fishery and coffee shop for quite a few years now carrying on from previous owners.Great staff friendly food good ? but in a less positive note is there really any need to install cameras above eating tables where people are eating and on various personal devices,.where they are moniterd throughout their visit to the coffee shop .I personally feel this has to be looked at again the location of the cameras yes most Definitely for securityi can understand surely not for someone slipping a scone in to their bag.Unfortunately i most def will not be sitting at a table for my lunch feeling I am monitored during my visit to the coffee shop.Ian....

Just had dinner at Moorbrook. I could highly recommend the food here.I had chickpea curry which was amazing,all the other dishes ordered at the table were equally as good. Also really nice to be able to order wine with dinner. Get yourselves down here to keep them open in the evening.

I found this wee place to be ever so friendly and accommodating. Food is tasty, surroundings awesome as there are a few wee lakes with a beautiful wee walk ?♀️around them. Also has a playground and men have permits for fishing ??

Came here by accident really as near where we were staying. The staff are lovely and very helpful. food is well priced and decent portions. excellent range of cakes for afters. They also have a really nice little playground for the kids outside much appreciated by my 18 month old. went back second time we like it so much
