Dreadful. Can safely say this was the worst Chinese takeaway ever experienced by the eight people who shared several dishes. Ordered chicken chow mien and it was anaemic to say the least. Chicken looked poached and there was a strange congealed substance rather than the expected soy colouring. Noodles were edible but that was it.

Very over priced menu. very misleading. All mains priced at £9.80 which you would assume comes with a bit of rice or chips as a side. This infact is not the case, you are charged extra for this and and an amusing £2.80 cost for a ridiculously small portion of sauce so was quite the shock when paying the bill. Wasnt sure if the staff were actually waiter's or general public as the waiter was dressed in a tracksuit. Our order was taken on a mobile phone as no pen. I won't be visiting again and would not recommend it. Shocking prices.

Arrived just as it opened on a weekend so no issue with seating. Later arrivals had a wait but we'll worth the waitNo problem finding nice options that were meat free.Good nice tasty well presented dishes could have happily had more.Service eclectic but none the worse for that. There is no alcohol licence but there is relaxed attitude to brining your own in.Very busy takeaway and delivery service but that did not slow down service. All in all very nice experienceVegetarian options: Easy to find meat free optionsParking: Busy seaside town so in summer parking hard in winter not so muchWheelchair accessibility: Hard to get in with a wheel chairDietary restrictions: Just explain your needs

My husband ordered a takeaway for the 2 of us....a king prawn curry/rice for me and he had chicken balls/ curry sauce. Normally I am satisfied with the quality of food, but this evening the onions were raw and totally inedible. I took a photo, but there is no facility to upload it here. Didn't even bother to phone and explain, because after reading the reviews, I doubt I would get much satisfaction. Do the owners/ mangt even read these reviews?

Worst Chinese food ever. There was no prawns in the Special fried rice and the satay sauce looked terrible and didn't taste like satay. No boiled rice was served with my wife's food and when we enquired we were told it was an extra. I would also question your cash only policy as thus was not made known when we sat down to order. The only thing pleasant was the attitude of the young lady who took our order

As a chinese woman myself i have no idea how this kitchen can mess their food up into garbage..food not only in a very small portion..but also taste very bad it taste like soy sauce add water, and add flour to thicken the sauce into slimy standard..it was so shxx that i wouldnt even feed my dogs with it..this place is a joke really..this is the worst chinese Ive had in Northern Ireland.

Had a carryout while staying in Newcastle. Ordered s+s chicken. Duck in plum sauce. Chicken curry and chicken fried rice. service was fast and came with a complimentary large bag of prawn crackers. Food was piping hot and very tasty. Ordered and served by pleasant staff. Well done sea palace.

The Sea Palace has been a regular haunt for my wife and I for a long time and this was the first time we were disappointed. The place was empty when we arrived and the waiter gabbled incessantly at us. The food arrived quickly but it was nowhere near the quality we have been used to at the Sea Palace over the last 30 years. The food was so hot I began to wonder if it had been microwaved. But the flavour, the sauces, nothing was as good as it used to be. Every place can have an off day so I'll not write it off yet but I'll not be rushing back and will watch the reviews closely before venturing back in.

After getting our order wrong and over charging, the manager (Ashleigh) refused to even acknowledge that she had made a mistake then tried to blame myself for her mistake while being extremely rude. She then went on to say and I quote “I am the manager and I don’t give a sh*t”. Threats were then made to call the police on myself for asking for a refund. I should have let her call the police as the portion size was criminal!!!! The situation was diffused by the lovely kitchen staff who had little English but were 1000 times more helpful than the horrible, extremely rude manager.

I'm giving this Chinese Restaurant 1* Star on the basis that our telephone number was barred - despite having been loyal customers for years, ordering takeaways from here regularly at weekends. We ordered a takeaway last weekend and could not find our money, and we got into a panic. The delivery driver was very ignorant over the phone, and I was very embarrassed as this had never happened to me before. They don't accept cards for some reason, and we would have been able to use this payment method had they accepted it. They barred us on this occasion and I think it was unjust as I previously said we always were loyal and often give tips.Disgrace.

brought my family of 6 this evening for the first time and it will most definitely be the last!!!The water jug was filthy rotten to start. We ordered 6 main dishes based on the recommendation from the waitress that the dishes were generous portions,”a good size’’. A considerable time later the dishes were brought out and much to our horror they were tiny portions. They were supposed to be “main” meals but were infact side plate sized dishes and portions with a total of just six (small) pieces of meat in each dish and just four in the fillet steak in peking sauce (£15). The food wasn’t just minimal but consisted of tough meat, particularly the over cooked pork and fillet steak. We spoke to a Chinese member of staff and expressed our issues to which he laughed and said he would speak to those in the kitchen, he didn’t return. We then spoke to the ‘manager’ who immediately became extremely aggressive, rude and unprofessional. I had two options on how to manage the situation, either refuse to pay anything or be decent and offer to pay half the bill as it was nothing short of half portions, at most. When I said I’d be paying half, the manager shouted obscenities at myself and my wife accusing us of doing this in every restaurant we visit and told us to wait that she was going to ring the police. We had previously asked to speak to the owner and relay our issues but we were refused this on the basis of him not speaking English but we could intermittently hear the manager and himself shouting at each other back and fourth downstairs! We had already placed our four children in the car directly outside so we told her we were more than happy for police to be called. During this ‘conversation’ with the manager, the blonde waitress began shouting and verbally abusing my wife from the table which she was clearing, telling us to “just bloody get out” to which my wife replied no,that we were happy to wait on the police,as asked.I thankfully recorded the verbal abuse on my phone. This verbal abuse lasted 10 minutes in total until the manager apologised twice when she realised I had recorded the entire thing. She asked us just to leave it that she was too busy to deal with it.So if you do not want small portions, verbally assaulted and made feel criminalised for speaking up as a paying customer I would think twice about ever going near Sea Palace.NEVER AGAIN
