I've really wanted to pop in here for Sunday lunch for quite a while. So my expectations were high and - I'm happy to say - exceeded.The staff are friendly & efficient and their Sunday lunches are traditional, tasty and generous. You're having a good meal in nice surroundings and it all feels very homely.It's a bit of a drive for me to get there but it's a treat and well worth it.
Called up after reading reviews from a few local pubs then this one with fab reviews. Called and asked for a table ASAP. Luckily they could accommodate us. Friendly service, food was fab and prompt. Ladies toilets were very clean and free hygiene products which were a nice touch. Nice pub with lots of character from the pictures and local horse brasses. Fireplace was lovley and I'm sure it's amazing when it's lit. All in all great experience

Called for lunch before visiting at stanhope hospital. Very freindly welcome from walking in the door . Had a nice chat with i presume the owner and staff service with a smile throughout. Food was great cooked fresh to order with good portion,s will call again when in
