My first time at The Stables. Absolutely perfect. Very tasty food made with good quality, fresh ingredients. Well presented and cooked. For me it was great to find a café that offers Darjeeling and pops the tea on a separate dish so I can get the strength of tea I like. Another fantastic thing for me is that they do not automatically put dressing on the salad - it is served separate. Lovely surroundings too. Love the twinkly lights too!Parking: Easy to park.Wheelchair accessibility: Excellent arrangements for bringing elderly parents.

This place is a gem. My husband and I had lunch here today, the service and food was absolutely exceptional. Will definitely be back and would highly recommend a visit.

We called in here after visiting Alnwick Castle. Very cosy and welcoming with outdoor seating area, useful if you have a dog. We got there just before noon so we had the lunch menu. There is a breakfast menu served till 11.30 which comprised the usual - bacon sandwich, egg sandwich etc. The lunch menu wasn’t huge but nobody would struggle finding something suitable. My wife went for the smashed avocado on brown toast which she really enjoyed. I chose the corned beef and potato pie. I think this was probably the best corned beef pie I’ve ever had. Will definitely have that again. Coffee was good too. Staff were friendly with a good sense of humour which I found out when I jokingly suggested the pie was from Costco. It wasn’t; it was homemade. Note - if you’re driving from Alnwick, the entrance is on the roundabout, not the little lane to the right just before the roundabout.

After a morning walking round a drizzly Alnwick, we in need of a cafe to have a cup of tea and a cake. All the cafes in Alnwick, were busy, so we decided to search for places nearby. We found this cafe and decided to try it, we were glad we did. The choice of cakes were good, and included a couple of gluten free options. We were so glad we found this place, and I would definitely recommend visiting this tearoom if in the Alnwick area.

In the Alnwick area looking for something for breakfast, spotted the sign and decided to give it a try. The bacon sandwich had plenty of nicely cooked bacon, the scrambled eggs on sourdough was plentyful and excellent quality, and the hot drinks topped everything off nicely. Friendly staff too.

Erg lekker geluncht. Bediening was snel. Het was erg druk met locals . Maar toch erg snel het eten ontvangen. En het waren ook nog eens een schappelijke prijzen. Jammer dat we niet zo’n lekker tearoom bij ons in de buurt hebben.

Always a lovely welcome. Always a good lunch, plenty of choice and new items on the menu now and very attractively presented. Delicious.

Stunning sausage bap, quaint setting, friendly staff. Cakes are lush. Shame it's only open 3 days a week

Popped in for lunch with my husband after visiting Alnwick, what a pleasant discovery! Sandwich and toastie were tasty, the pot of tea hit the spot! The Apple and Date chutney was a delight ?

We love going here for lunch! It is popular and always busy. We both had the soup this time and it was delicious. Lovely cakes as well.

We were passing The Old Stables last Thursday and stopped for a bite to eat. We decided on the afternoon tea. We were totally blown away. The sandwiches were amazing and the mini Victoria Sponge was a favourite although it was very hard to choose. Definitely the best afternoon tea I’ve had, and a big shout out to their pastry chef. Service was also great, with a real friendly welcome, and recommendations on local sights. A brilliant atmosphere too. Perfect end to a great trip. Highly recommended.
