“Visited the restaurant last night with my partner, the food was stunning. Ordered the steak which was a splendid cut and cooked to perfection, plus the chicken tikka skewers were packed with flavour and plates were plentiful!Staff were extremely attentive nothing was too much trouble. The venue is also dog friendly so he got treats and fuss too.A lovely experience thank you.”

“I was recommended by Deniy delli who was closed for refurbishment unfortunately as I wanted to treat my mam to a lovely experience. Upon arrival was greeted at the entrance and shown to a table with such amazing view of the city Berwick-upon-Tweed. I had already reviewed the menu online and my mam chose at the table . I struggle to eat at present due to illness, but I enjoyed the meal that much I ate everything on my plate it was absolutely lovely. I had read a few reviews beforehand and wow the reviews were spot on. Even changed my train times to spend a bit more time there. This was such a lovely place ,food and staff are 5 star.i recommended this this place to anyone wether be a small bite or dining it's a must for me we were there for well over an hour as it was so relaxing and enjoying so glad I went. My mam said she couldn't of had a better day out. Thank so much to the staff. Even the prices were very good. Definitely visit here☆☆☆☆☆”

“Had a great time in this little pub in Berwick-upon-Tweed. Saw it highly rated in Google so went in for a pint (or two) after a long day of walking. Small, but well-curated selection of cask ales and ciders that offer something for everybody. Light snacks and food are on offer. Was filled with attentive staff and a bunch of friendly regulars. If ale or cider is what you're looking for in Berwick-upon-Tweed, then The Curfew is for you.”

“Christian visitors to Holy Island for the day (30.08.23), I was with my sister and her three young girls, whom I was visiting in Newcastle. It was the most beautiful day and we thought we would have a quick bite before driving back, enjoying the view. After a rude and hugely unwelcoming experience at the much grander Manor Hotel pub (who refused to serve us, and said there were no tables free when we could see one with no 'reserved' sign) we went across the road to the Crown and Anchor who, though they had run out of mains (I think because of bookings) couldn't have been nicer and more hospitable. They bent over backwards for us. It is not at all smart - more like the old fashioned sawdust floor cum public rooms in inns of yore - but I would take a great atmosphere over a gentrified interior, any day. They provided the girls with nuggets and chips, I had a great pint of a local ale (I think it was Farne Island; delicious) and we had a lovely time in the beer garden. The locals both inside and out were very welcoming and chatty to us; we responded in kind!Noteworthy details: Wonderful views outside across towards the island and sea of Lindisfarne towards Lindisfarne Castle, and in the other direction towards Lindisfarne Abbey. Also, dog friendly.”

“Went with my family for a meal on Sunday evening as we were holidaying in the area Messaged to book a table and they answered promptly. Friendly staff lovey meal, best meal we had had all weekend. Food was fresh and very tasty. I accidentally left my handbag under the table I had just realised when we got back to our accommodation when they messaged me to say they had found it and would keep it safe until I return for it. Wry much appreciated thank you”

“Stayed on a number of occasions when their prices and my budget coincides. Rooms are great and more importantly warm at this time of year. Food is always good and service is excellent. Do like stopping here as it’s only 500 yards away from my client. Cater quite a bit for shooting parties.Rooms: Warm and nicely decorated.”

“Staff: 10/10Cleanliness: 10/10History: 10/10Berwick upon Tweed Railway Station is situated upon the ruins of the old Berwick Castle and ramparts, just overlooking the river Tweed and the You are able to see the old ruins from across the tracks as you pull into the station or leave the station.Using this station quite frequently, I’ve found that it is usually no less than immaculate, the platforms and waiting rooms always welcoming. There are only two platforms in the station; one north and one south, as well as several train time boards. There are lifts/elevators for passengers who need accessibility, as well as plenty of help into the train, so it is easy to navigate. The staff are more than happy to help and are always smiling.Within the station there is a help desk for queries and the ability to purchase tickets, as well as a Costa for food, drinks and other purchasable extras the likes of magazines, toys, travel accessories etc.Definitely one of the more pleasant stations I have had the pleasure of using down the East Coast line.”
