Today we had Sunday lunch in the Brewers Arms. We waited quite a long time, not sure why. The food arrived looked very nice, but unfortunately it was cold. Wasn't given a chance to say anything due to staff clearly being under pressure . We really like this pub as its reasonably priced and dog friendly. A shame today was a disappointment ?

23/03/24 One of the most miserable bar staff I've ever had the misfortune to ask for a couple of pints from. Large Ginger female in her 20's clearly dodged the customer service training. Greeted me with a small nod and some sort of gutteral sound. That was the entire comms from the lady. Berwick is on it's knees by the looks of it so I imagine if you're a small business owner you need every advantage you can get. If this is your bar you really want to grab this miserable mood hoover and drag her to the 'minimum standards for manners' classes before your business goes the same way as many others. A smile, some craic and some minor human decency isn't too much to ask is it?

We arrived at 6pm on the 16th Dec, as soon as we walked in there was a group of young lads in drunk and swearing and it was disgusting, this would have never happened Margaret owned it! I was so so scared this shouldn’t have happened, totally fight and a guy getting kicked on the head!!! Absolutely disgusting, I will never bring my family back into this pub again!! It’s just full of hooligans, used to be a lovley place to go to but it’s a shambles now.. Alison bell

Surprisingly quiet on my visit. 2 handpumps, Taylor's Landlord fine. Golden Wonder crisps include the wonderous 'pickled onion' flavour, and the smallest pickled eggs I have come across. TV playing some football game, at low volume, thankfully.Parking: Close to main Castle Gate parking area.

Visited christmas eve, very quiet. Lady serving was wearing her coat and much more intetested in using her mobile phone than serving customers! Sad!! I had one glass of wine, ok wine but served in a ver dirty glass. Smears and someone elses lip stick still on the glass. Clearly customers are not a priority neither is cleanliness of glasswear! Dont they know that is important?? Will not be back.

it was terrible what had to put up with, ill never set foot in that pub again, just full of basically youngsters that won't take no one else where! Seeing a guy getting kicked in the head when you're out for a quiet drink at 6pm and no staff doing anything apart from a girl sitting on the other side of the barno managment there as we were told they were away on holiday!! Only 1 lady there that took responsibility and she wasn't even managment,,

We visited on 2nd Jan in the afternoon whilst visiting the area. 3 adults & 2 teens. Lovely friendly lady behind the bar when we arrived, talked to us about menu options. Ordered food and drinks - good value - 5 adult meals plus drinks was around £65. The food was fabulous. The steak pie portion was huge & the meat delicious! The teens had the smash burgers & said they were excellent. There’s a pool table (£1 for 2 games which is really well priced) which kept the teens happy whilst we chatted. Excellent find - would very happily eat there again if we visit in the future.

In for Christmas lunch what a disappointment not worth the money no atmosphere scream child all the way through the meal. Music blaring out of tv no Christmas Dec's. It's as if you don't want customers your board for advertising should be outside not hidden behind door. Won't be back.
